A Thank You Blog Hop!

Tonight several GinaK Designs designers are joining together to host a special thank you blog hop to our recently retired StampTV Challenge Hostess Team. The four designers we're honoring tonight have provided weekly challenges for the STV members for the entire months of December, January, and February and we are so thankful for their inspiration and hard work!
Each participating designer was asked to choose one challenge shared during the past 3 months and make a card to share on their blogs tonight as well as to send that card to the hostess.

My card today is for Selma Stevenson. I used heat embossing on my card, from Selma's Heat Embossing Challenge. When I think of Selma, I always thing of flowers, so I decided to make a card with flowers from the Spring Florals stamp set on it. Everything Selma does is gorgeous, but her flower cards are always my favorites.

Visit these links to see all the projects we've prepared for our alumni hostess team:
And, the new StampTV Challenge Hostess team is also joining in on the hop tonight!

To see all the challenges the Retired Hostess team has shared during their term, visit the StampTV Idea Center . There is even a PDF version of each hostesses challenges, so they can be saved & even printed out for everyone's reference!

To make my card, I started by stamping the crocuses, from Spring Florals, using Memento Tuxedo Black.

I stamped the crocus image a second time and scratch paper and cut it out, then used that to mask the first image I stamped. With the mask in place, I stamped the crocus image agina.

Then I moved the mask to the new crocus image and stamped the daisy image.

I used Copics to color the flowers, starting with Y17 on the crocus stamens. Then I added V09 to the deepest shadows on the flowers.

Added V06.

Added Vo4.

Then I used Y17 on the daisy flowers.

Filled in with Y21.

For the centers of the daisies, I used E53 and E37. For the stems and leaves I used YG03 and YG95.

Then I used my Versa Mark pen to add Versa Mark ink to the images. I heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder. The Versa Mark ink allowed the powder to stick to the image.

Next, I sponged using Memento Cantaloupe ink.

I sponged Memento New Sprout on the bottom and Memento Angel Pink on the top.

Sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves along the edges of the bottom and Memento Rose Bud along the edges of the top.

I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and Passionate Pink. The cardbase is Creme De Menthe.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Theresa,
Before Selma moved to where she currently resides, I had the priviledge of having her for not only my good friend, but for my "Stamping Instructor". Now I know that I am pretty bias when it comes to talking about Selma, but I think you would agree with me that she has TALENT beyond words. She is also a very patient instructor, and always wanted to teach us new techniques and share her knowledge.

The card you made for Selma is absolutely beautiful, and yes, flowers and Selma go hand in hand.

Sincerely,
Dianna Towner

This card is absolutly beautiful. When I first looked at it I assumed the background was made with spray thing (I cannot remember the name). It has really inspired me to get out the sponges and blend away. Thank you

Your sponging is such a prominent part of your style. It makes everything to display for us POP! I use the brushes and am wondering if I should experiment with the sponges? I love the effect you get with your sponges!

WAW - You did it once again - I was wondering how to make the "clear" look at the flowers - and here I go. Once again - thanks.
