Gina K December Release Day 2

Hello! Today is the second day blog hopping with the team at Gina K Designs. Today we are featuring stamp sets by Beth Silaika and Claire Brenna. First up is the set by Beth, called Xavier Zebra. I used the cute parrot image for this card and added some fun foliage. The birthday sentiment is from my Framescapes set.

And here is a card using the adorable zebra. Isn't he cute?

Claire has two sets this release. First is a card using her Half Pint Heroes set. I had fun coloring this rocket ship and creating the moonscape background.

Claire's second set is called Half Pint Heroines. So many sweet images in this set. I love the big hot air balloon for coloring.

Gina K December Release Day One

Hello and welcome! Today the team at Gina K Designs are sharing their ideas with the latest stamp release. On today's blog hop, we are showcasing Melanie Muenchinger's new set, Holiday Frame Fillers and my latest set, Framescapes - Winter Trees. I'm so excited about this new set. It's something I've been wanting to do for a long time and I plan to do several more in the Framescape series.

In the card above I used one of the accent images without the Framescape main image. There are so many combinations possible with this set. Video coming soon!

Here is a look at the full set, found at Gina K Designs here.

I used the main Framescape image in the next three cards. For this one I added the mountains & birds flying in the background and the lone hiker in the foreground. Video coming for this one soon, too!

For this card, I kept the scene very simple, only adding the birds, stamped twice together on the left and once on the right.

Here is the video for the pink card.

On this last card, I added the single tree and deer to the foreground and used a white gel pen to add snow highlights to the trees and ground. I'll be getting you a video for this one, too.

Next up is Melanie's new Holiday Frame Fillers.

I love how Melanie created images that can turn her Holiday Frame into a door. How perfect for wreaths for all seasons! You can find this set here.

I love coloring pumpkins so I couldn't resist using this image even though it's after Thanksgiving.

That little bear is too adorable and I had to color him, too. I love how you can use this stamp set for any occasion.

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop. Ready for some inspiration? Here are a few of the projects I have created for today’s hop:

A Jolly holly Video and Tutorial

Hello! Today I have another card to share with you, featuring my latest stamp set for Gina K Designs, called Dashing.

Here is the video I made to show you how I made the card and you can see step by step photos below.

Stamp the holly image, from the Dashing stamp set,  twice, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I only show one image, but you'll need two for the finished card. After stamping, begin coloring using Copic marker G28.

Add Copic marker G07.

Add G03.

Fill in with G000. Touch up the shading if desired with G28.

For the berries, start with Copic marker R89.

Add R27, leaving just a tiny bit uncolored, then fill that in with R00. For the stem, us E57.  After coloring, cut out the holly images.

Trim white cardstock to 4 ½ by 3 ¼ inches and sponge lightly around the edges with Gina K Ocean Mist ink.

Sponge very lightly over the Ocean Mist with Gina K Dark Sage ink. Optional : Sponge extremely lightly with Black Onyx over the Dark Sage. The sponge dauber should be essentially dry for this step to be certain to get a very light effect.

Stamp two of the snowflakes, also from Dashing, using Dark Sage. But be sure to stamp off onto scotch paper first to make the images lighter when stamped on your background. Repeat several times, randomly over the cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment onto the background using Black Onyx ink. Layer the background with a piece of Pure Luxury Black Onyx ink, trimmed slightly larger, then adhere both layers to a 5 ½ by 4 ¼ inch Moonlit Fog card base. Adhere both holly images using craft glue.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Gina K Blog Hop Day 3

Hello and welcome to day three of the Gina K Designs team blog hop. Today, we are featuring Beth Silaika’s new “Ian Moose” stamp set and Claire Brennan’s new stamp sets: Nordic Winter, Noel, Festive Foliage and Compliments of the Season. Beth’s set, “Ian Moose” is the most adorable moose with cute accompanying images and fun sentiments! Claire’s stamp sets are the best in classic and traditional stamps celebrating this holiday season!

I adore the sweet moose in Beth's set. Combined with the tree and snowflake, he makes a fun and cute scene card.

For my second card I used Claire gorgeous Festive Foliage stamp set. I love images like this. So elegant and striking!

I also made a card with the new incentive set. Love these beautiful snowflakes!

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

Gina K Blog Hop Day 2

Hello! Today the team at Gina K Designs are showcasing two more new release stamp sets, Holiday Frame from Melanie Muenchinger, and Dashing, illustrated by me! This first card is one I made using Melanie's Holiday Frame set. Love the versatility of this set and how it will work with so many of Melanie's other frame sets!

And here is the card I made using my new set, Dashing. This set is full of holiday images that can be used for elegant and masculine cards. Some of the images can be used for non-holiday winter scenes, as well.

Here is another card using Dashing.

Here is a video for the card above and there are step by step instructions below.

Trim ivory cardstock to 4 ½ by 3 ¼ inches and place a mask, trimmed to 1 by 2 ¼ inches, in the lower right corner. Sponge around the edges of the cardstock using Gina K Warm Cocoa ink.

Deepen the shading around the edges by sponging with Gina K Dark Chocolate ink.

Stamp the large tree image, from Dashing, on the left side using Dark Chocolate ink. I stamped mine so that one tree was off the cardstock and two remained on the cardstock, but you could choose to use all three. Stamp a few additional times, without re-inking the image, to make some lighter impressions. Repeat on the other side of the cardstock.

Switch to the smaller tree image, and stamp again with Dark Chocolate at full strength and stamping a few more times without re-inking.

Stamp both images a few more times, with Warm Cocoa ink, but stamping off onto scratch paper first to make the images lighter.

Stamp the santa's sleigh image using Dark Chocolate ink.

Remove the mask you placed earlier and stamp the sentiment in the open space. I used Gina K Cranberry Tart ink, but if you con't have Cranberry Tart, Cherry Red would be a good alternative.

Use an opaque white gel pen to add snow to the trees and highlights to the sleigh and the rumps of the deer.

To finish, layer with a piece of Cranberry Tart cardstock and adhere to a 5 ½ by 4 ¼ inch ivory card base.

Gina K Blog Hop Day 1

Hello! Gina K has just released more wonderful stamp sets, all themed for Christmas, and today the team is sharing their designs to inspire you. This was a super fun release since I got to spend it in Milwaukee at the Christmas in the Village event at Gina's brick and mortar store, Village Paper and Ink. I met so many wonderful people and had an amazing time. What talented people we had attending! I could go on and on, but I better get to my card.

The first card I made today features the new StampTV kit, Home for the Holidays. I love this new kit! These gorgeous trees are perfect for Christmas cards, but will be fun to use all year.

The second card I made today is from a set called Tis the Sea-sun. I love this set! It's perfect for people that live in a tropical location or are traveling over the holidays.

Gina K Blog Hop : Bella Elephant, So Cool & Sweet Thing

Hello! It's the second day of hopping for the latest Gina K Designs release. Today we are featuring a new stamp set from Beth Salaika, called Bella Elephant, along with four of Claire Brennan's sets, Petite Patisserie, My Island, So Cool and Sweet Thing.

For my card above, I used the small bear cupcake topper to make a scene card. I cut out the bear after coloring, then placed him on a few "clouds" cut from white cardstock. I sponged the background and then added stars using an opaque white gel pen. To make some of the stars look like they are falling, I drew in a fine line with the gel pen then smeared them upward with my finger to make them fade out.

I used images from So Cool for this card. For a photo tutorial on this one, just scroll down.

Here is a card I made using images from My Island. I love that this set has great images for scene building.

Next up is a card I made using Bella Elephant. I have a photo tutorial for this card below, as well.

Here is one more using Bella Elephant, because I can't resist that sweet elephant. I color the image on white cardstock and then cut it out, adhered it to the card base and then added some shading with Copics.

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

To start the elephant card, stamp the elephant, at an angle on white cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then stamp it on scratch paper (or a sticky note) that you'll used for a mask. After stamping, cut out the mask image.

Begin coloring with an N5 Copic marker.

Add N1.

Fill most of the way in with N1.

Use R83 for the feet.

Then fill in with R81.

Place the mask over the image and secure with repositionable tape.

Cut an arc from a sticky note and place over the mask, then sponge lightly with Gina K Fresh Asparagus.

Add a shadow around and below the elephant using Copic marker BV00.

Remove the arc mask and sponge lightly around the top and sides using Gina K Wild Lilac.

Remove the elephant mask and add a shadow around and below the elephant using Copic marker BV00.

Stamp the sentiment using Gina K Black Onyx ink.

Cut some narrow strips of Innocent Pink cardstock and adhere to a Wild Lilac card base.

Frame the image layer with a piece of Black Onyx cardstock and adhere both pieces to the card base.

For the ice cream card, start by stamping the small ice cream cone three times on white cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Start coloring the cherries on top using R29 Copic marker.

Add R24.

Fill in with R20.

For the ice cream scoops, use E57 for the first, R24 for the second and E53 for the third.

Add E55, E22 and E51.

Fill in with E53, R20 and E00.

For the waffle cone, start with E35.

Add E33.

Fill in with E31.

After coloring, use scissors to cut out the images.

Cut and emboss white cardstock with a rectangle die template and sponge around the edges, with the die cut still in the die template, using Gina K Bubblegum Pink ink.

Adhere the cones to the rectangle using dimensional foam squares and layer with a piece of Pure Luxury Dark Chocolate cardstock. Adhere both layers to a Bubblegum pink card base using dimensional foam squares. Stamp the sentiment on a small piece of white cardstock and adhere to the card, adding a mini clothespin to embellish.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
