Pressed Flower Thank You Cards

Hello! Today, I have a set of 3 Thank You cards, all made with mostly the same elements, but mixed up just a bit. I used Melanie's new stamp set, Pressed Flowers and the branch from Hang In There. Moxie Fab is having and Olympic Challenge this week and I'm entering this set into the Thank You category for that contest.

These are very simple cards, so I only have a few photos. To start, I cut a piece of Pure Luxury White cardstock to 2 inches square. Then I used Post-it Notes to mask off a narrow border on all four sides, and sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink.

Next, I inked up the flower, from Pressed Flowers, with Memento Cantaloupe ink, then Used my Tangelo Memento Marker to added some ink to the petals, in the center and along the outside edges. I also used the Tangelo, along with Potter's Clay to add some color to the flower center. I huffed on the stamp before stamping, keeping the flower off center somewhat.

I repeated the same process for the other two flowers. Then I layered the square with Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss, SU Creamy Caramel and SU Apricot Appeal.

On this card, I stamped the branch from Hang In There, on a Creamy Caramel card base, using Memento Rich Cocoa ink and put the flower image at an angle. The sentiment is from Tech Talk and stamped in Rich Cocoa. By putting the sentiment at an angle, too, the card works either vertically, like I've shown here, or turned on it's side.

On this card, I used a Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss card base and stamped the branches in white pigment ink. the sentiment (from Eclectic Summer Sayings) is also stamped in white and I added the white lines with my white gel pen.

On the third card, I used an SU Apricot Appeal card base and stamped the branches in Memento Desert Sand ink. The sentiment is from Inside and Out (the free with three set this month) and stamped with Rich Cocoa.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

A Birthday Bear and Gina K Blog Hop!

Hiya! The Gina K Design Team is having a blog hop today, featuring all the new stamp sets from this month's release. Gina challenged us to use at least two colors from the new Spring Cardstock Assortment on our project. I used my new stamp set, Hang in There, with Innocent Pink and Lemon drop Yellow.

Here are all the designers joining in the hop tonight featuring February's new stamp sets:

I also want to announce my two fabulous guest designers for Hang In There, Brenda Turner and Linda Payne! Linda and Brenda both made cards for the hop, so be sure to check them out. I'll also be featuring projects from these two ladies on my blog next week!

To make my card, I stamped the Koala image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored with Copics, starting with N7.

Next I used N5.

Added N3.

Filled in with N1.

I used W1 and W3 on the branch. After coloring, I heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder. I used my Versa Mark pen to cover the entire image with Versa Mark ink, so the embossing powder would stick.

I cut a 1 1/4 inch circle from a post-it note to mask for the sun and sponged, Memento Cantaloupe ink, lightly.

Then I place the circle I had cut out, over the sponged sun, using re-positionable tape, and sponged Memento Angel Pink.

With the mask still in place, I sponged Memento Rose Bud. Then I removed the mask and stamped the branch and grass, stamping additional times before re-inking to give some depth to the scene.

I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and Innocent Pink and used a Lemon Drop cardbase. The ribbon is from the Spring Ribbon Assortment.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day and wonderful weekend!

Gina K is sponsoring a big giveaway on the Tuesday Trigger post, so be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win. I used the same stamp set as my first card today, Many Wishes, which is also one of the stamp sets you can win today at Moxie Fab. Be sure to stop by Gina's blog to for more information and links to the rest of the design team for inspiration.

In other news, StampTV is celebrating reaching 10,000 members! Gina is celebrating in style and giving away a huge $200 shopping spree at Gina K Designs!!! Click this link to get entered in the contest.

This was a pretty simple card, so I don't have many photos. I made the top panel by cutting a rectangle using my Nestabilities, then I sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink, while it was still in the die.

I inked up the dandelions from Many Wishes, with Memento Cantaloupe ink, then thumped some Tangelo ink, using my Memento marker. I huffed on the stamp and then stamped.

I layered with Pure Luxury Kraft, Sweet Corn and White cardstock. My cardbase is also Kraft. I also added a big yellow bow and some piercing.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

My card above features two stamp sets, Many Wishes and Sweetest Memories, that are part of the prize package at Moxie Fab. Gina and the rest of the design team will be using images from many of the prize sets, so hop on over to Gina's blog, then check out what the rest of the team has for you to see.

To start my card, I sponged the background layer. I used Pure Luxury White cardstock and sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink. keeping the ink lightest around the center of the cardstock.

Then I sponged Memento Tangelo ink, working my way in from the edges, but not as far as the previous color.

Sponged Memento Lady Bug ink, this time keeping pretty close to the edges.

Sponged Memento Potters Clay over the Lady Bug red. I failed to note the ink on my fingers from the lid of the ink pad and added a few marks. This is becoming a habit. LOL.

I let the accidental marks determine the placement of the dandelions, stamping each size from Many Wishes, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I used the silhouette grass stamp from Hang in There, to add some dimension to the foreground. First I stamped several times with Memento Desert Sand Then I inked up with Rich Cocoa and stamped off once before stamping on the image and repeated that a few times to create some depth.

The sentiment is from Sweetest Memories. I inked it up with Memento Potter's Clay, then used a Memento Rich Cocoa marker to ink up the words Life and Moments. Added piercing to two corners and then layered with Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss cardstock. The cardbase is Pure Luxury Pumpkin Spice.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you day is filled with fun and laughter!

Peachy Daisies

Hiya, stampers! I played along with the SCS Featured Stamper challenge this morning. The featured stamper this week is JovialJudy. What a fabulous gallery. I chose this card for my inspiration. Participants were to change at least two things. I changed...

Different stamps
Changed layout
Added a bow

I used the daisy stamp from Purrr-fectly Delightful and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo black ink. I used Copic markers to color the images, starting with YR07 on the petals. I filled each petal in completely.

Then I used my blender pen to push color away from the centers of the petals, creating my highlights. Usually, I would just use a few different colors to get this effect, but I thought it would be nice to show an example of how much color variation you can get with just one marker and the blender pen. After using the blender pen, I went back with YR07 to make some of the shadows darker. Then I colored the other flowers the same way.

For the centers, I used Y17, then my blender pen to add some highlights.

For the stems, I used YG05 all over, then added YG93 along the left sides, to create some shading.

For the top panel, I cut a piece of Pure Luxury Ivory with my rectangle Nestabilities, then sponged with Memento Tangelo ink, while still in the die. I wanted very light sponging, so I didn't actually ink up my Jumbo Sponge Dauber, instead just using the residual ink that was left on the sponge from the last time I used it.

For the larger background panel, I cut a Piece of Ivory cardstock then placed Post-it Notes on the lower half as a mask. Then I stamped the branch from Picture It! (part of the current StampTV kit), using Memento Cantaloupe ink.

Removed the mask and placed the lower portion in my Paisley CB folder, then ran it through my Cuttlebug to emboss.

I stamped the butterflies from Purrr-fectly Delightful with Memento Tangelo. I layered with SU Apricot Appeal and used Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Ivory for my card base.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Butterfly in Flight

Happy Saturday! I got a chance to play along with the SCS inspiration challenge this morning. I used this photo for my inspiration. I used the butterfly from Hope is Faith and the branch from Hang in There.

I used Copic markers to color the butterfly, starting with R27.

Added YR07, coloring completely over the red and extending past it a bit.

Added YR04.

Added YR12.

Added Y17.

Filled in with Y13, then added YR04 to the outer spots.

Used N5 on the body and then cut out the image.

For the background, I sponged Memento Summer Sky.

Sponged Memento Danube Blue.

Sponged Memento Paris Dusk.

Stamped the branch with Memento London Fog.

I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and Lemon Drop and used a Smoky Slate cardbase.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
