Hello! Just a quick post this morning to share a card that appeared in the May issue of CardMaker magazine. I'm still working on my video from the other day, but almost finished.
And here is the card on page 70. I used images from Gone Fishing and Pure Luxury card stock from Gina K.
Here is a peek at the inside of the card. More images from Gond Fishing.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Sketchy Fish
Hello! I played along with the sketch challenge at SCS today using images from Gone Fishing.
I stamped the fish, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copics, starting with YG93.
Filled in the rest with C1.
Then added a band of pink with R20.
Added some shading with C3.
Then some deeper shading with C5.
For the background scene, I sponged Memento Desert Sand.
Then sponged Memento Rich Cocoa.
Stamped the trees, off the edge on either side, using Memento Rich Cocoa.
I used a sticky note to mask the top and then sponged a bit of Rich Cocoa to make a horizon line.
I colored in the trees with YG93. I didn't fill them in completely, instead I just made them kinda splotchy.
Added E35 to the tree trunks and the ground.
Then I used W1 to add more shading to the ground and fill in the trees, blending a bit.
I used E35 (too dark) and E33 to add ripples to the water, then used the white gel pen to add highlights.
I sponged another piece of cardstock with Memento Desert Sand and Rich Cocoa.
Then stamped the fishing fly repeatedly, in a random pattern, using Rich Cocoa, stamped off for a lighter image.
The little silhouette fisherman was stamped in Rich Cocoa and the fish was cut out and adhered with Pop Dots. I layered with Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown and used an Ivory card base.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Peaceful Fishing
Hi there! My card today is for two challenges. First is the Copic Creations challenge to do a reflection technique (I love to do reflections!). It is also for the Teapot Tuesday challenge at SCS. I love these challenges and the fun stories that go along with them. This week, Gullible Gill is trapped in a basket and has multitudes of fish, teapotters, cute animals and who knows what else coming to his rescue. Tommy the Trout (see fish above) just had a run in of his own, with the fisherman in the distance, and is late to the rescue party. Hopefully, he'll be in time for desert.
I used images from Gone Fishing. The trout is colored with Copics, starting with YG95.
Added YG93.
Added YG91.
Tommy is a rainbow trout, so I added a stripe of R22.
Then a little R20.
Filled in with C1.
Then a little more shading on the belly with C3.
The green seemed a little too bright, so I added N3 along the back and fins.
For the background, I started by sponged Memento Desert Sand ink.
Sponged some Memento London Fog.
Then sponged Memento Rich Cocoa.
Stamped the trees, also from Gone Fishing, with Memento Tuxedo Black.
I decided to do a cheater reflection. The image isn't symmetrical, but I thought it might be close enough to look like a loose reflection. I saw Melanie do this a long time ago thought it was so clever! (and so much easier than pulling out the reflection stamp)
Since the image was somewhat close to being almost an itty bit symmetrical, I stamped it again, upside down, this time with Memento London Fog. As you can see, the trunks don't line up (nothing unusual there, I can't stamp straight anyway), but I figured I could color it in well enough not to be too noticeable. So, tell me, did you notice my not so accurate reflection when you first saw the card?
I filled in both areas with N1.
Added N3, making some horzontal lines in the water to look like ripples and hopefully make the image look a bit less distinct.
Added N5, mainly to the top and just a few shadows in the water.
Added N7 for the deepest shadows in the top only.
Stamped the silhouette fisherman with Tuxedo Black, then drew in a shadow using N5.
I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and White, then used a Moonlit Fog cardbase. The fish is attached using Pop Dots.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm busy stamping for the new GKD release next week, so I don't think I'll have anything new to show you until Sunday night when the previews begin. Hope to see you then! Have a great day and a fabulous weekend!

Sitting By the Dock of the Bay
Hi! I have another dock card. This time I floated the dock in the center, using the cattails to anchor it.
To start, I used the cattails, from Gone Fishing, right on the edge of my cardstock.
Since I wanted careful placement of the dock, I made sure the stamp was trimmed carefully on the side that would be placed by the cattails.
I tore a Post-it Note to cover the cattails, then stamped the dock.
The Post-it allowed me to get the dock right up against the cattails, but kept me from stamping over them.
After removing the Post-it, I colored with Copics, starting with E59.
Added E57.
Added E53.
Filled in with E51.
On the cattails, I started with YG93
Added YG91 and YG95.
I sponged the foreground with Memento Desert Sand, masking off the water with torn Post-it Notes.
Sponged Memento Rich Cocoa.
I removed the Post-its, then stamped and cut out a mask for the doc. I adhered it to the dock with re-positionable tape. Then I sponged some Memento Cantaloupe ink. I used a 1/2 inch circle punch to mask off a sun and sponged around it, too.
Sponged Memento Tangelo ink.
Used Post-it's again, to mask off for a horizon line. I sponged Memento Rich Cocoa and London Fog.
Moved the top mask and sponged with Memento Desert Sand, to create more distant hills.
Removed the masks.
Then placed more Post-its, this time masking off the top, at the water line. Then I sponged a little with Tangelo and London Fog.
Removed the mask from the dock. Added ripples and extra shading under the dock, with E35.
Used E52 to blend the E35 a bit, then added some highlights with my white gel pen.
Stamped some silhouette cattails, from Life is Good, and grass, from Hang in There, with Memento Rich Cocoa.
Added a sentiment from Gone Fishing and layered with Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown, Ivory and Tan Leather. The card base is Chocolate Brown.
Did you see Gina has started posting snippets from the new release? Can you guess which one is from my new set?
Thank for stopping by. I hope your day is wonderful!
