What a Hoot

Hiya! I visited my sister and got to play with some of her stamps. She just got this new set, Owl Be Here, from Mark's Finest Papers. I played along with the Inspiration Challenge at SCS and took my inspiration from products on this website, borrowing their clean and simple design style, as well as the colors and use of natural embellishment, found in most of their products. The Speedy the Cat challenge this week is to use something new, so I'm entering this card in that challenge, too.

I stamped the owl, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copics, starting with E29.

Then I added E57.

Added E53.

Then filled in with E00

I colored in the eyes with B02.

I cut and folded my card base, then I cut a circle from scratch paper, using circle Nestabilities. I used the scratch paper as a mask and sponged Memento Desert Sand ink directly onto the card base.

Then I sponged a bit of Memento Cantaloupe ink to warm up the circle a bit.

I removed the mask and glued down a small twig, scavenged from my sister's backyard. Then I adhered the cut out owl, using Pop Dots. I stamped the sentiment in the lower left corner.

I added some dots using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.
