My Daughter's First Card

While at my mom's house for New Years, my 16 year old daughter announced she wanted to make a card, much to the astonishment of the rest of us. This black and white card is what she came up with all on her own.

I thought she did a really great job and I must say this is better than my first card by a long shot. The main image is from Stem Silhouettes (retired from Stampin' Up) and the butterfly is from Dreams du Jour (also from Stampin' Up). She pulled the DP out of my mom's stash and I am not sure what company it is from.

This is a birthday card my sister made me. She used A Year of Flowers and Botanical Dreams, both from Gina K and I think that sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

This is the card my mom made for me. The image is from Sassy Suzie by Stampin' Up. She added a little oval of card stock to look like a rug. I think it really helps to "ground" the image.

Aren't they all fabulous? Hehe, I love getting handmade cards.

Melanie is on Day 4 of her big celebration and today's prize is sponsored by Scor-Pal! That's right, you can win a scor-pal, so head on over to Melanie's blog and get entered to win. I don't have a Scor-Pal yet, but I tried out my sister's when I was visiting her last week and now I want need one! It is going in my shopping card next time I order from Gina K, so I will have a Scor-Pal of my own very soon.

Want some inspiration from some fantastic designers using Melanie's sets? Check out the following talented ladies... Carolina , Barb, Donna, Jessica , Jessie, Julie, Lee, and ROSE Ann

I'll be back tonight with a Melanie card of my own. See you then.

Have a great day!

First of all, is it your birthday? If so, Happy Birthday!
Next, you do not look old enough to BE 16, much less have a 16 year old daughter!
It looks like she is going to be as talented as her momma is!
Oh...you MUST have a Scor-Pal. Take it from your Missouri friend that it is something that you will use every single day from day one forward! My newest gadget is the DreamKutz - I'm in love!

Have a great Sunday!

I can't believe you don't have a Scor-Pal! I finally got mine a few months ago and I love it! Yes... it is a definite must have!

Tell your daughter her first card is beautiful. My 16 year old only makes cards when I make her participate in my kids classes. She made 2 scrapbooks when she was younger but now . . video games & facebook win out!!

Wow, 3 generations of stampers!! How great is that?!! That is an amazing first card by your daughter. You certainly don't expect to see multiple layers, a cool sketch design, and a monochromatic color combo like that from a newbie!! Congrats, she inherited great genes!
