A Mother's Touch

The Melabration continues! LOL. For those of you just tuning in, Melanie Muenchinger is celebration big for her one year anniversary of blogging and illustrating stamps for Gina K Designs.

There are still fabulous prizes to be won, so head on over to Melanie's blog and get signed up to win today's wonderful prize, a box of Copic Markers! And for some rockin' samples staring Melanies stamps, check out what her amazing guest designers have to show you... Emily, Barb, Charmaine, Donna, and Jessica

And now, a bit about this card...

The hands image is from Melanies most recent stamp set, Hand in Hand. I stamped the image and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it with Nestabilities (more about that below). I layered behind it with Apricot Appeal and Pumkin Pie cardstock.

Next was a layer of Gina K Pure Luxury 80lb white cardstock, sponged with Apricot Appeal and then dry embossed with a Birds and Vine Cuttlebug folder. Below that is another layer of Pumkin Pie cardstock. The card base is Gina's 120lb Pure Luxury.

The lily along side the main image panel is from Melanie's A Year of Flowers. I colored it with Copic markers and then cut it out. For embellishments I added ribbon, self adhesive pearls, a Prima flower and some card stock punched out using the Martha Stewart leaf punch. (or is that a branch punch? I don't know what to call it).

To get the framed sponging effect, after cutting and embossing my paper, I left it in the scallop rectangle nestabilities die and then sponged with Apricot Appeal ink. When I was finished I just popped out the paper and was left with a nice white frame.

Thanks for looking. I hope your day is filled with happiness!

WoWzA, this is seriously gorgeous, Theresa!

Now I simply MUST know how you sponge ... 'cuz everytime I try to sponge in my Nesties it goes flyin' out the back side, straight into my ink pad, where it lands face down. Yeah, I'm sponge-challenged AND accident-prone.
