Bird on a Branch.

Happy Sunday! I put this card together for the inspiration challenge at SCS yesterday. I chose this piece for my inspiration. I used Rupa's latest stamp set, Home Tweet Home.

Here is a step by step of how I created this card. Sorry for the blue photos. I recently got an Ott light, for my craft room and it gives off this bluish light. What's with that? I thought they were supposed to be colorless?

First I started by stamping the bird/flower branch stamp once. I wanted more branches above the bird, so cleaned by stamp and placed tape over the bird before inking it up again.

Then I removed the tape before stamping again. There was a little gap in the branch, where the bird's feet were. I used a black line marker to re-draw the missing portion.

All the images were colored with Koh-i-noor pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits and blending stumps.

I rubbed a dryer sheet over the entire paper, then used my Versa Mark pen and colored over all the images. Next, I heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder.

Sponged with So Saffron ink.

Sponged with Regal Rose ink.

Sponged with Summer Sun and Apricot Appeal around the bottom, then stamped some leaves from Tropical Flowers, using Apricot Appeal ink.

To finish the card, I added a sentiment in a bottom corner and some piercing in the other bottom corner. Layered with Basic Balck, Cameo Coral and placed on an Apricot Appeal card base.

In the upper corner, I added some of my precious supply of Rain Dots. I ordered these over a month ago and I pull them out almost every day and think about using them. I just love them so much, I can barely stand to use them up. Yep, I'm a hoarder. I finally broke down and forced myself to use some on this card. They are so pretty! I see that there are heart shaped rain dots, too. I may need to get some of those, too!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you have a great day!

Beautiful as always Theresa! Love the colors you used and your coloring and sponging, well, you know how I feel about those! LOL!

My photography friend told me it has to do with the camera, with the blue color you are getting, I have a problem with pink, lol! It has something to do with the white balance, I havent figured my camera out yet! If you do, let me know!
