Winter Ornaments Tutorial

Hello there! This week sure is flying by fast. I can't believe it's Wednesday already. I used my newest stamp set from Gina K Designs on this card, Joyful Holiday.

To begin, I cut  Pure Luxury card stock using Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Matting Basics B, then sponged Memento Summer Sky while still in the die template.

Then sponged Memento Gray Flannel, then I removed the background from the die template.

I stamped the swirly tree, on its side, using Memento Northern Pine, using sticky note masks to protect the clean edge of my background.

Then I stamped the string/bow with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, using masks to shorten the length on a few.

Stamped the ornaments with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I began coloring with R89, Copic marker.

Added R27.

Then filled in with R22.

The sentiment was stamped with Memento Love Letter. I used an opaque white gel pen to add highlights to the tops of the swirls, then went over the swirls with my Startdust Gitter Pen.

For a mat, I cut a piece of Pure Luxury Moonlit Fog card stock with another Matting Basics B die template, then sponged Memento Gray Flannel while still in the die template.

I used yet another Matting Basics B die template to emboss a frame on my Pure Luxury White card base (5 ½ by 4 ¼ inches), then adhered my layers.

Thanaks for dropping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

This is just beautiful, and that is really smart to start the scene inside the diecut piece ( I always make a mess trying to mask off a shape) :) thanks for Sharing!

This is a very beautiful and elegant card. Thank you so much for your tutorials, Theresa. They help me so much not only with the sponging but also figuring out how to use my copics. I'm new to them so every bit of help is welcomed :)
