New Release Inspiration Blog Hop Day 2

Hello there! It's day two of our Gina K Designs blog hops and we have three wonderful new sets to feature today. First is Becky Oehlers' fun new set, You Say Goodbye, I Say 'Ello. There are so many fun images and international greetings in this set!

Next is a wonderful Halloween set, from Beth Salaika, called Wicked. This set is filled with fun, iconic Halloween images, perfect for making cards, candy wrappers and little boxes and bags. I'll be posting the tutorial for this card in a few days...

Next is Tami Mayberry's awesome new set, Take Note. You'll love the trendy images in this set, perfect for making ATCs, cards, journals, etc. I altered a small notebook to make a little journal for writing not quick thoughts and notes to myself.

For more inspiration, be sure to see what the rest of the team has to show you…

Here are a few step by step photos of the altered notebook.

To begin, I cut a piece of Pure Luxury card stock, slightly larger than the frame image in Take Note. Then I sponged Forest Moss Distress ink.

Sponged Weathered Wood Distress ink.

Sponged Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I wanted to create an aged look to my background, so I crumpled up some scratch paper and used it to "stamp" in a random pattern on the background, using more Antique Linen ink.

Then did the same with Weathered Wood Distress Ink.

And, finally, stamped more with Forest Moss ink.

Then, using a real stamp, I stamped the large frame, from Take Note, using Memento Espresso Truffle.

Stamped the lines, twice, using Memento Gray Flannel.

I added a layer of ivory, stamped with the "my Life" sentiment and adhered using Pop Dots. Then I stamped arrows, using Forest Moss Distress ink.

Stamped "documented" using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Here is the simple notebook I used to alter. It's been sitting around in my cabinet, waiting to get used, for at least two or three years.

I used a piece of pattern paper to cover, then adhered my cover, layered with Pure Luxury Dark Chocolate card stock.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your day is fabulous!

Your cards are all so delightfully created. I love that coffee one and also that is a neat Halloween scene with just a few stamps used. And, no exception, is the way you did the notebook. All are fantastic and I am thrilled you shared them.

Not sure which is my favorite: the warm feeling of the Bonjour card, the white highlights on the Wicked card or the uber cool Life Documented notebook.

I love the layout and overall treatment of the 'bon jour' card; and the Halloween card is really fabulous! The colors are gorgeous and will look forward to your tutorial. Love the idea of the notepad....it's something I NEED but I've had way too many years making notes on whatever little piece of paper happens to be within reach at the moment. It's been a bad habit I have found to be impossible to change. TFS
