I used my new set, Fanciful Fall, along with a sentiment from Wishes and Dreams. All the details are below, but for more of the design team's favorite background techniques, please visit these designer's links participating in tonight's hop:

- Tera - our guest designer this month!
To start, I cut a circle from scratch paper, using Nestabilities. I used re-positionable tape and adhered it to my background, to mask a moon. Then I sponged Memento Summer Sky ink.
Sponged Memento Danube Blue ink.
Sponged Memento Paris Dusk ink.
Sponged Memento Tuxedo Black.
Then I removed the circle mask and used the scrap piece that I had cut it from to mask the surrounding area, leaving the circle open. I sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink, trying to keep it light. I did it a little heavier than I intended and it wound up looking a bit more like a sun than a moon, but I can live with it if you can.
Next, I stamped the tree, from Fanciful Fall, using Stazon Black.
I cut a mask from another piece of scratch paper and masked off the top of the background, lining my mask up with the bottom of the tree. Then I sponged Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I used an opaque white pen to add stars to the night sky. Then I used a Sakura Stardust pen to add glitter to the stars and the leaves of the tree.
I used the sentiment from Wishes and Dreams, stamped with Versa Mark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and used a Baby Boy Blue card base.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a wonderful day!
