Gina K Preview - Lovely Labels and Inside and Out

Hello! It's another day a previews for the Gina K February release and I am so excited about the two stamp sets we are showing today. I used both new sets on my card. Nina Brackett designed an incredible set of frames, all designed to work with some of your favorite Nestabilities Labels dies. The one I used on my card is my favorite. I just love the swirly sweet peas.

When I first saw these wonderful images, I thought this set will be wonderful for anyone that has Nestabilities Labels dies, but then I realized that they will work beautifully even if you don't have the coordinating dies. So for my card today, I decided not to used my nesties and show you how wonderful the stamps work all by themselves!

Also on this card, I used the new Free With Three stamp set for February. Gina created a wonderful set of sentiments for both the outside and inside of your cards! I stamped the "Happy Birthday" greeting on the outside...

And on the inside, I stamped the coordinating sentiment. I also used an image from the new Spring Florals set.

The Lovely Labels stamp set coordinates beautifully with Spellbinders Labels 1, 4, 8, and 9. Nina has also designed a new digital paper pack called Swing into Spring that compliments the new Spring Assortment paper pack. For even more information on these new products, please visit the Lovely Labels Illustrator's blog Nina Brackett.

We'd love to have each of you make plans to join us tomorrow night for the big Release party over in Gina's Forum on SCS! The virtual party starts at 7pm CST and is filled with contest questions from Gina, challenges from three of our designers, and tons more samples from the entire GKD team!

For some helpful tips on how Gina's Release parties work on SCS, check out this discussion on StampTV.

To make my card, I stamped the frame on Pure Luxury White cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I used my Y23 Copic marker to go around the edge of the circle.

Added Y21 and then used my blender pen to soften the transition to white.

Used V06 on the Sweet Peas.

Added V01 and used my blender pen to push some highlights back in. Then I went back with V06 to deepen the shadows.

Used YG03 and YG05 on the leaves and stems.

Used C1 and C3 to add a shadow around the outside of the frame, creating a little more dimension.

The sentiment is from Inside & Out. The Happy Birthday sentiment is on one line, but to fit in the label frame, I needed the words to be stacked. Rather than inking up the words separately and needing to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig, I decided to cut the words apart for easy stamping. I made a nice "V" cut, so they would fit back together perfectly, when I want to use them on one line again. Since they are now separate, I was able to put them on a block, lined up one over the other, and stamp just once, no Stamp-a-ma-jig needed.

Nina's Lovely Labels would be great at single layer cards, or layered, like I did here. And, of course, if you have the coordinating Nestabilities dies, then they will be so much fun to layer using Nesties. Here I used a layer of Pure Luxury Black Onyx and a Sweet Corn cardbase.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and I hope to see you at the party tonight!

Theresa,
Your work is so beautiful. I have learned so much from your Copic tutuorials. I recently purchased a set of Copic markers, I've been practicing with them and I'm actually improving. Thank you so much.
