Friendly Daisies and Custom Copic Designer Paper

Hi stampers! I loved the CAS challenge this week, to use this layout. I had an extra blue daisy from a card I made last week, so I thought it would be a perfect start for this card. All the images are from Purrr-fectly Delightful. I colored two more daisies, one pink and one lavender and cut them out.

After I colored and cut out the images, I went searching for some complimentary DP for the horizontal element in the design, but couldn't come up with anything that worked. So I resorted to making my own. I cut a strip of Pure Luxury White cardstock and then used Copics to color. I used a light, medium and dark in pink, blue and lavender. I made a quick swipe with a light, then medium, then dark, back to meduim, then light. Then I would switch to the next color and so on. As you can see from the photo, I didn't worry too much about making perfect lines and didn't do any blending. That whole process only took about 3 or 4 minutes.

Next, I used the fine tips of some complimentary Memento Markers, and an opaque white gel pen. I used a straight edge and added the lines to give a little more color variation.

All in all I was pretty happy with the results, especially after I put it on the card. I've got to remember to try this next time I'm struggling with DP. I am so DP challenged, but this I can handle.

I adhered the three daisies, then the custom DP. Next, I added the sentiment and butterflies (stamped with Memento Lulu Lavender) and scored two lines. Then I tied a bow using ribbon from GKD Autumn Ribbon Assortment.

Thanks for the visit. Have a great day!

Theresa - that is BEAUTIFUL. I never would have thought of making my own paper like that. I truly thought it was "someone else's", i.e. company paper. Absolutely wonderful!!!

What a great idea, I can see some plaid DP in the making too!!! This maybe a more simpler card, but it sure packs a decorative punch!
