Hello! I hope you all had a happy weekend. Have you been following the Holiday Tutorial Blitz at Split Coast Stampers? There is a whole passel of new tutorials posted, all featuring holiday projects. I wrote one of the tutorials for this Pocket Matchbook Candy Holder. You can see all the holiday tutorials, past and present, here, and you can see the Holiday Blitz Gallery right here.
I used the holly sprig from A Very Merry Christmas and colored it with Copic markers. For the background, I sponged a little Certainly Celery on Pure Luxury Ivory and then stamped the branch from Christmas Blessings. Cardstock layers are Rocket Red and Black Onyx.
On the inside, did the background the same as above and then stamped the sentiment, from Christmas Blessings. You can see all the step by step photos and even a video, here.
I also had to share this little card that my daughter made the other day. She really surprised me by wanting to make a card. She used the sprig of holly from A Very Merry Christmas and colored with Copics. The image was cut out and layered with Rocket Red and an All Spruced Up cardbase. This was her first time using Copics and I think she did a fantastic job.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope your day is full of stamping fun!

Lovin' that matchbox card, Theresa! Thanks for the heads up on the SCS fun! And, OMG...how exciting that DD is so creative! What a beautiful card made by her! TFS...
GORGEOUS, as always!!
Oh, do I love both of them! The matchbox card is simply adorable!
Oh, wow! Your daughter's coloring is better than my first time with Copics. She's as talented as her mom.
Cool project, I'll have to check it out eventually. Your daughter's card is wonderful, taking after mom.
I just love that matchbook, must do one of those! And I can tell you daughter has the family talent for sure!
didnt know about this over on SCS but will be back to look at your toot!
your daughter has an eye for creating! what's the saying "the apple doesnt fall far from the tree" ... hope she does more!
What a beautiful card, Stephanie!! Great job on the coloring. Great tutorial Theresa!
Love this T - I already downloaded it from SCS (which is why I was puzzled when I saw it here - I thought - gee didn't I already read this?!?!) Meanwhile - move over Mama - you have a great little artist on your hands - coming up to move you out of your spot - adorable card - great job with Copics! WOW - give her a huge KUDOS from me! :-)
Your daughter is so talented! Love her card! And I enjoyed your matchbook holder tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing!
You DD must have been watching you color when you weren't looking. Many adults have a tendancy to have a heavy hand when first learning to use copics but she was able to add shading. I thought she was accustomed to using Copics.
