Carving Pumpkins

Hello! Today I have a scrapbook page I made using some old photos of my daughter carving pumpkins. I used my new set, Autumn Beauty. This is also my sample for the scrapbook challenge I am hosting on StampTV this week.

Here is the sketch for the challenge. I hope you'll play along. I will be drawing a random winner that will receive the free stamp set of their choice from Gina K Designs. You can find all the details here.

To start my page, I stamped the scarcrow from Autumn Beauty on a piece of Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock, then used Copics to color. I used B26 in the darkest areas.

Then I added B24.

I filled in the rest of the overalls with B21, then used C3 so they wouldn't be quite so bright. I used my blender pen to lighten up the highlights just a bit.

For the shirt, I started with E35.

Then I went over the E35 with Y14, to warm it up a little, then blended out from there with E33.

Filled in the rest of the shirt with E31, then used my blender pen to lift a little color from the lightest areas.

For the hat, I used Y23, E33, E37 and my blender pen.

For the straw and pole, I used Y23 and E35. Then I added a bit of E37 shading to the pole.

After coloring, I heat embossed the scarecrow, with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the large cornstalk once and the small cornstalk twice. I used Y21 to color the entire cornstalks, then added E31 to the shadows. After coloring I heat embossed the cornstalks.

In the upper right corner of my page, I stamped the swirly branch. As much as I love my Copics, sometimes in images with very small details, they can be difficult to stay in the lines. In that case, I like to pull out my Memento Markers and take advantage of the super fine point they have on one end. I used my Desert Sand Memento marker on the branch.

Then I added some shading with Rich Cocoa, followed by Desert Sand again to soften the transition.

For the leaves, I used Potter's Clay and Cantaloupe Memento markers. After coloring I also heat embossed this image with clear embossing powder.

For the pumpkins, I started with YR07.

Then added YR04.

Followed by YR02 and my blender pen. After coloring two sets of pumpkins, I cut them out to place on my page later.

Before assembling my page, I sponged aournd the edges with So Saffron and then Apricot Appeal ink.

I layered with Chocolate Kiss cardstock (Gina K) and Pumpkin Spice (Gina K), then added some piercing and the pumpkins.

Thanks for the visit. Have a happy stamping day!
