Thankful Bamboo

Good morning! Here is a card I made for the color challenge on SCS this week. The challenge was to make a single layer, white card. I did some reverse masking and embossing resist to make it look like there were some layers.

Here are the details...

I started by cutting a piece of scrap paper to the finished size of my card, 4 1/4 by 5 1/2. This will be my mask. Then I used a rectangle Nestabilities die to cut the center. I trimmed 1/4 inch from the length and width of the small piece that I cut out.

Next I placed the mask on my Pure Luxury White card base, using re-positionable tape, then place the trimmed piece in the center. Using my Versa Mark pen, I used the smaller rectangle as a guide and traced around it.

Then I removed both masks and heat embossed the Versa Mark line. I was careful to remove any residue from the repositionable tape and brush off any stray bits of embossing powder, before heating.

After embossing, I replaced the larger mask and sponged with So Saffron ink.

Here I added some Apricot Appeal and More Mustard.

Sponged Pumpkin Pie and Really Rust.

Sponged Real Red and Bravo Burgundy.

After removing the mask, I stamped the bamboo from Gratitude = Joy (Unity Stamp Co.) and dragonfly (also Unity, but I don't know what set).

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Beauteous! And you make it sound soooo simple ... 'cept I know it isn't; you're just a great teacher, Theresa.

Love this and I love the faux layers you created ... you knocked this one outta the park, g/f!
