An Inspiration Card

This card pulled double duty. I needed to send a "thank you" to my sister for giving me that stamp set last week and I also wanted to give Beate's Be Inspired Challenge a try. I also took inspiration from the card she made. I loved the colors she used.

To get this effect, I sponged ink onto Plexiglas and then used a black marker to make some squiggly lines. Then I spritzed the plexi with water and laid the paper on top. I rubbed all around on the paper, then lifted it up. It took about three attemps before I came up with one I liked.

Then I trimmed the paper (after letting it dry) and backed it with black and more mustard, before mounting it on a very vanilla card base, which I sponged around the edges with more mustard ink.

Fabulous card - love the simplicity of your layout. Great background you made - thanks for the info on your method.
