Pink Crocus Card Tutorial and Video

Hello there! Today's card features images from Signs of Spring. I stamped the image at an angle from the corner to mix things up a bit.

Here is a video and if you prefer to watch directly at Youtube, you can click here to my channel.

To start, cut and emboss white cardstock using Spellbinders® Classic Squares Nestabilities #7 die template (with #1 being the smallest die template). Then sponge around the edges, with the die cut still in the die template, using Gina K Sweet Corn ink.

Sponge along the bottom and left side, very lightly, using Gina K Fresh Asparagus ink.

Remove the die cut from the die template and use sticky notes to mask the un-inked edges. Then stamp the crocus image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Begin coloring by filling in the petals most of the way using Spectrum Noir marker BP1. Then use the blender pen to smooth out the transition from color to white.

Switch to BP2 and deepen the shading at the base of the petals and along the tips. Then use the previous color to blend.

Then for the deepest shading, use BP6. Once again, use the previous color to blend.

For the stems, fill in using CG2.

Use DG3 to add some shading to the stems, then back to CG2 to blend it in.

To finish the card, I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and Passionate Pink onto a 5 by 5 inch card base. The sentiment was also from Signs of Spring and stamped on a 1/2 inch strip of white cardstock. I used adhesive foam squares to adhere the sentiment layer and under the pink layer.

Thanks for visiting. I hope your day is wonderful!
