Up, Up and Away Tutorial and Gina K Invitation

Hello! It's release time at Gina K Designs. The illustrators are blog hopping today to share ideas with their new sets and invite you to the release party tonight at StampTV.  My card features my new stamp set, Up, Up and Away. You'll be able to see the full set when it goes live in the online store, tonight at 5pm Central.

In the meantime, how about some more inspiration from our illustrators?

Start here…
Gina K
Becky Oehlers
Beth Silaika
Debbie Corbari
Melanie Muenchinger
Tami Mayberry

To start my card, I formed a top fold 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch Pure Luxury White card base. I also cut a mask from scratch paper. I trimmed it to slightly larger than my card base and cut the center using Spellbinders® A2 Matting Basics A die template.

I adhered the mask over the card base front, using low tack painters tape and began sponging, using Gina K Fresh Asparagus ink.

I cut a curve in a sticky note to make another mask, then sponged more Gina K Fresh Asparagus.

I removed the mask and moved it and placed the curve I had cut away to cover the portion I had already sponged. Then I sponged more Fresh Asparagus.

I removed both masks and sponged Gina K Powder Blue for the sky.

On a separate piece of white card stock, I stamped the two larger hot air balloons using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I began coloring with my R27 Copic marker.

Then used R08.

Then filled in with R02.

For the basket, I used E33. For the horizontal bands, I used Y17.

For the smaller hot air balloon, I started with V06.

Then added V12.

On the other stripes I used Y17.

Then filled in with Y13.

I colored in the negative spaces, between the baskets and balloons to look like the sky, B21 for the smaller and YG93 for the larger.

I cut out the images and adhered to the card base using dimensional adhesive. The sentiment was stamped on white and also adhered with dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!
