Partial Embossing Cuttlebug Iris

Hello! Today the Gina K Design Team are having a special blog hop featuring some of the many techniques that have been featured at Stamp TV. We hope you will hop along for tons of inspiration and maybe a try a new technique yourself. If you found your way here from Tina's blog, you are on the right track. I used the partial embossing with a Cuttlebug folder technique for my project and used images from Warm With Love.

I started by stamping the iris with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I used Copics to color, starting with V04 on a petal.

Added V01.

Added V000.

Then I deepened the shadows with V06.

I colored the remaining petals the same way.

For the foliage, I started with YG03.

Then added YG09. After coloring, I cut out the image.

I cut an oval, using Oval Nestabilities from Pure Luxury white cardstock, then I sponged Memento New Sprout while it was still in the die.

Sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves.

Then sponged Memento Cantaloupe.

Stamped some grass for the background with Memento New Sprout.

I cut my cardbase to fold at the top and scored it. Then I placed it in the Swiss Dots folder, with the folder sideways, lining up with the fold line. Gina's video will show you exactly how to do this. After embossing the top portion, I left an un-embossed section and lined up the Swiss Dots folder along the bottom edge and embossed again.

After embossing the bottom, I placed the card base on my Scor-Buddy and scored lines to frame the un-embossed section.

I layered the background with Pure Luxury Wild Lilac, cut using Scallop Oval Nestabilities, stamped the sentiment and added piercing. The cut out image was adhered using Pop Dots.
