Hi there! Gina K issued the Design Team a challenge to use one of her past StampTV videos and make a project using one of the stamp sets from the last release. I love the look of the Faux Window technique (seen here and here). I decided to do the same technique, but instead of a four panel window, made mine a triptych, using my new set, Aloha.
For more inspiration check out what the rest of the design team has to show you...
I used Copics to color the flamingo, starting with R27 in the darkest areas.
Added R22.
Filled in with R20, leaving just a few hightlights uncolored.
Used R24 to go back and deepen the shading.
To create the background, I sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink lightly across the cardstock.
I added a small circle mast, that I trimmed the bottom from, then sponged more Memento Cantaloupe.
Sponged Memento Angel Pink on either side of the yellow.
I sponged a bit Memento Tangelo.
Sponged Angel Pink above and below.
Sponged Memento Lulu Lavender from the edges until it meets the pink.
Added some Post-it Notes as a mask at the horizon line and sponged Memento Rose Bud to create a slight difference in color from the sky.
Sponged Memento Grape Jelly from the edges and in a ways.
Removed the mask and stamped the palm tree island/reflection image using Tuxedo Black ink.
I used my London Fog and Tuxedo Black Memento markers to emphasize the horizon line a bit.
Used my white gel pen and some Copic markers to add some waves.
I stamped just the top of the palm tree around the edges so just a bit of the foliage was peeking over the edges.
Cut my background into thirds to create the faux window effect.
Layered the panels with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and adhered to a Pure Luxury Kraft card base.
Then I added the cut out flamingo, adhering with Pop Dots at the body and then gluing down the lower part of the legs.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a wonderful day!
