Aloha

Hello and Happy Independence day to all my fellow Americans! I've been enjoying the long holiday weekend, but I do have a card to share with you that I made for the GKD release party last week. I used my new set, Aloha and combined images with Melanie's new Fun Year Round and one of her older sets, A Year of Leaves.

I stamped the hibiscus, from Aloha, and colored it with Copics. First I used Y17 on the stamens and filled in the petals with Y000. Then I added YR07 to the center.

Added Y17.

Added Y21, leaving just a small section on each petal for a highlight.

I used the YR000 to blend the Y21 and then went back with YR07, Y17 and Y21 to add deeper shading, by feathering out from the center.

I used a leaf, from A Year of Leaves and colored all over with YG03.

 Added YG95.

Blended with YG93 and then used the blender pen to push in some highlights.

On the card base, I stamped some of the images from Fun Year Round, to create a horizontal border. I used Memento Cantaloupe, Tangelo and Lady Bug inks.

I cut out the hibiscus and leaves and attached them with Pop Dots, then stamped the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!
