Movie Magic - Guest Designer Challenge

Hiya, stampers! Today the Gina K Design Team and illustrators are having a special blog hop and issuing you a challenge to join our team for the month of May! One lucky participant will be our guest designer for the May release. Gina challenged us to make a card using our newly release stamp sets, inspired by a favorite movie.

I made my card, using my new set, Gone Fishing, inspired by the movie, On Golden Pond. I saw that movie ages ago, when it first came out, but I still remember the gorgeous scenery and wishing I lived there.

For the specific details of the Senior Design Team challenge, please visit GinaK's Blog. Then, check out these designer's links for all the projects they have prepared for tonight's challenge:

To make my card, I started by stamping the dock, from Gone Fishing, on the lower left corner of a piece of white cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I colored using Copics, starting with E49.

Added E57.

Blended out from there with E35.

Filled in with E51.

Next, I stamped the dock again, on scratch paper and cut it out. I adhered it over the dock I had colored, using re-positionable tape. Then I sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink.

Sponged over the Cantaloupe with Memento Desert Sand ink.

Sponged with Memento Rich Cocoa, swiping it in farther at the center and creating some extra splotchiness to look like clouds.

Then I placed two Post-it Notes at the horizon line, as a mask and sponged a tiny bit more Rich Cocoa.

Removed the Post-it mask and stamped the trees on the left side with Rich Cocoa.

Added some shading to the trees and ground with E57.

Added E55.

Filled in the trees and blended out the ground with E53.

I decided I wanted a tree on the right side, too, so I stamped and colored that one the same way.

Removed the mask from the dock and stamped some grass, from Hang In There, along the bottom, with Rich Cocoa ink.

I layered with Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown and Sweet Corn. My card base is Chocolate Brown.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll play along in the challenge. Have a great day!!!

Theresa, you captured the gorgeous beauty of "Golden Pond" so perfectly in this card. WOW!!! I can't take my eyes off it. (BTW I only live a few minutes away from the lake (not pond) where they made the movie. And it IS just as beautiful as you've depicted in this card)
