Sunset Fisherman

Hi there, Stampers! I'm back with another card I shared at the GKD release party last week. I used Gone Fishing images on this one.

I started with a piece of Pure Luxury White cardstock and sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink.

Sponged Memento Tangelo ink.

Sponged Memento Potter's Clay.

Sponged Memento Rich Cocoa.

I used a torn Post-it Note to mask off a small area and sponged Rich Cocoa more heavily.

Moved the post it up and over a bit, then sponged, using the same sponge dauber, without re-inking.

Stamped the large silhouette fisherman using Stazon black.

Then I decided some wispy clouds would be nice, so I a few swipes of color with my E53 and E33 Copic markers. The clouds seemed to be a little harsh, so I decided to use my blender pen to soften them a bit.

And here is where I learned that Copic Blender pens and Stazon ink don't work so well together. I really did know that already, but I guess I blocked it out. I wound up with a nice grey smear extending from the fishing pole. So I decided some nice grey clouds would make a nice addition and my mistake would seem intentional.

And here is where I discovered that scrubbing a Copic marker on card stock that is still damp from sponging, can result in tearing the top layer of the card. I used a N3 marker and added some wispy grey clouds. The little white tear marks in the clouds are "highlights." You could even say they are the silver lining.

Since I now had all those grey clouds, I added some more sponging with Memento London Fog.

In the end, I actually kinda like the mistakes. LOL. I layered with Pure Luxury Pumpkin Spice and Chocolate Brown.

Here is how I did the inside. I stamped the sentiment in black and the fish in London Fog.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

As always I love your card. I had to laugh when you were talking about your mistakes. I did the same thing with a card I made recently. I put to much ink in the center and the paper pilled.
Could you give me an idea of the sizes of most of your finished cards? I would really appreciate it.
