...forever on the hips!
I am still playing with my sister's stamp set, Just So Hippy (Gina K. Designs). This is a refigerator magnet made from a card board coaster I smuggled out of Red Robin when we had dinner there last week.
I thought I could use some scolding to stay out of the refrigerator. I don't think it will work, but can't hurt to try right? I made this to meet the challenge this week at Stamp Something, which is to use something that shines, sparkles and glitters and it also is for Melanie's challenge to create something using one of her stamp sets.
The image of the hippo was stamped with black Stazon, colored with Koh-i-noor pencils & OMS and then cut out. I also heat embossed it with clear.
I didn't have any good background stamps that seemed to fit what I was looking for, so I drew in tree and some grass. The back ground is colored with a combination of craft markers, water color pencils and sponging.
After I figured out my layout, I used Word to come up with the sentiment. When I got it positioned right, I adhered the background to a piece of copy paper, using re-positionable tape and printed the saying directly onto the background.
I inked the sides and edges of the coaster with black ink before assembling the card. On the back, I used magnet tape (from Michaels) and covered it with light weight designer paper.
Sorry, I didn't get a tutorial for this. I meant to, but just kept forgetting to take pictures. If there is a lot of interest, I can do the project again and get a tutorial made.
