I fell in love with the Island Sun collection and used it on my card. The designs are perfect for many card making occasions and they are so perfect for scrapbooking your favorite summer beach memories. I love that these papers will work great for masculine and kids cards, too!
Your next stop on the hop is Vicki Garrett.
The Paper Loft will be hosting a giveaway of a $25 gift certificate to their online store to one winner on their blog (http://thepaperloftlc.blogspot.com/).
To get started on the card, stamp the sailboat, from By the Sea 2 by Gina K Designs, onto white cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Begin coloring, using Copic marker Y23 on the sails.
Blend along the previous color using Y21, leaving a few uncolored areas as highlights.
Use a colorless blender pen to smooth out the transition from the yellow to uncolored areas.
For the main part of the boat, begin with Copic marker W5.
Then fill in with W1.
After coloring, cut out the image using scissors and set aside while you prepare the background.
Cut and emboss white cardstock with Spellbinders® Classic Ovals SM. Sponge around the edges with Gina K Ocean Mist ink with the die cut still in the die template.
Place a sticky note over the top section to mask for the sky and continue sponging with Ocean Mist ink.
Adhere the sail boat to the oval. Notice there are some white parts in the center of the image that would have required some extreme fussy cutting, so I just left them.
To make the white parts blend into the background, I filled in those areas with a BG10 Copic marker.
Add some ripples to the water by making squiggly lines with a BG02 Copic marker and a shadow below the sailboat with N3.
Trim a piece of the Island Sun paper to 4 ¾ inches by 1 ½ inches, then use scissors to cut a notch on one end to shape it like a banner.
Trim another piece of the Island Sun paper to 3 ¼ inches by 1 inch and cut a notch on one end.
Cut another piece to ½ by 3 inches. Stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock and trim slightly smaller than the pattern paper. Layer and adhere.
Prepare a 4 ¾ inch square card base from white cardstock and adhere the banners. Attach the oval and sentiment layers using adhesive foam squares and embellish with self adhesive gems.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy the hop!
