Holiday Flakes Card Making Tutorial and Video

Hello! I have a fairly simple card to share with you today. I used my new set, Let It Snow, to emboss resist the background.

Here is a quick video to show you how I made the card and a few step by step photo are below.  Sorry I missed taking a few photos.

I cut and embossed white cardstock using Spellbinders® A2 Matting Basics A (#5 die template). Then stamped four sizes of the snowflakes using VersaMark ink. The snowflakes were then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged using Gina K Powder Blue ink.

Then sponged using Gina K Wild Lilac ink.

I also cut and embossed using the long rectangle from the A2 Matting Basics A set. Then sponged and embossed using Gina K Powder Blue ink.

Removed the rectangle from the die template and stamped the sentiment using Gina K Black ink.

I layered with Pure Luxury In The Navy cardstock and used a Powder Blue card base (4 ¼ by 5 ½ inches). I used 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to pop up the layers, then added self adhesive gems to the snowflakes to embellish.

Thanks for stopping  by. Have a great day!

To make my card, I started by stamping the big gift bag using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then cut out the image using scissors. I sponged around the edges of the bag using Gina K Kraft ink.

I added just a bit more shading with my W3 Copic marker.

For the braided rope, I colored with R24.

I used a snowflake image, from my set, Let It Snow, inked with Gina K Dark Chocolate, but stamped off first to make the images lighter.

I used another snowflake, this time with Gina K Faded Brick ink. I stamped off again to make the images lighter. For the one just under the fold over the braided rope, I masked off so it would look like the rest of the snowflake was hidden behind the rope and fold.

I trimmed a piece of Pure Luxury Dark Chocolate cardstock to 5 by 3 3/4 inches and stamped more snowflakes with VersaMark ink. The VersaMark is colorless, but creates a watermark type of image behind.

The bag was adhered to the brown layer with dimensional adhesives and I tucked a piece of red tissue paper behind it. The sentiment, also from Beyond Baskets 2, was stamped on white cardstock and cut out, then adhered to the bag. I added three Gina K Coffee House Mix buttons to embellish and layered with a piece of Pure Luxury Cherry Red and an Ivory card base (5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches).

Thanks for visiting. Have a fabulous day!

To start, I used Spellbinders® Timeless Rectangles to cut and emboss Pure Luxury White cardstock. Then I sponged with Gina K Ocean Mist ink, with the cardstock still in the die template.

I stamped one of the snowflakes using Gina K Ocean Mist.

Stamped another snowflake with Gina K Powder Blue ink.

For the third snowflake, I stamped using Gina K Wild Lilac, but stamped off on scratch paper first to make the image lighter.

I removed the cardstock from the die template, then used my Sticky Glue Pen on each of the snowflake and sprinkled with iridescent glitter.

The snowman was stamped on Pure Luxury White, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I started my shading with a Copic marker, BV11.

 Added BV00.

 Then added BV000.

For the hat, I started with N7.

 Added N5.

 Then filled in with N1.

For the nose, I used YR07 and YR02.

I used BG05 for the tie and hat band.

Then filled in with BG02. After coloring, I cut out the image, trimming away the broom.

The sentiment was stamped on white using Gina K Blue Raspberry ink. Then I used my sticky glue pen again to add glitter.

Both glittered pieces were layered with Pure Luxury Ocean Mist cardstock. The sentiment was tucked under the snowman thumb. I used self adhesive foam squares to pop up the snowman and sentiment and used a white card base (4 ¼ by 5 ½ inches).

Thanks for visiting. Have a crafty day!

Trim Pure Luxury Kraft cardstock to 5 by 10 inches and score halfway to form cardbase. Trim a piece of scratch paper to 5 by 5 inches and used Spellbinders® Classic Squares LG (largest die template) to cut center from the scratch paper. Then used repositionable tape to secure to card base front.

Cut a wavy line in sticky notes to form another mask. Place on card base and begin sponging with opaque white ink.

Move the mask lower and sponge again.

Move the mask lower again and sponge once more.

Remove the snowbank mask and sponge around the inner edges of the square frame mask, using opaque white ink.

Deepen the shadows behind the snowbanks by coloring in with BV11 and BV00.

Stamp the snowman image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then used Copic markers to color. Start with W3 to shade the body.

Add E53.

Then add E51.

Use YR07 and YR04 for the nose.

Use N5 and N3 for the hat.

For the tie and hat band, use R24 and R22.

Use E35 sand E31 for the broom. After coloring, cut out the image.

Stamp the sentiment, also from Let It Snow, onto the 5 by 5 inch card base, using Memento Espresso Truffle ink. Add decorative score lines to two corners, using a Scor-buddy or other score tool. The snowman was adhered using dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you day is wonderful!

Spooky Halloween Card Tutorial and Video

Hello there! Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. It features images from Fanciful Fall (Gina K Designs), Spellbinders® die templates along with some fun burlap paper from DCWV.  I even created a video to go with this one.

Here is the video and there are step by step photos below, if you prefer.

To start, I stamped the smaller pumpkin on white cardstock. Then I used another pumpkin that I had already stamped and cut out to mask over the the first image. Then I stamped with the larger pumping.

I removed the mask, then began coloring with a YR07 Copic marker.

Added YR04.

Added YR02.

Then filled in with Y17.

For the stems, I started with YG95.

Then added YG03.

I cut and embossed Royal & Langnickel silver engravinging paper with Spellbinders Wrought Iron Die D-lites™ die template.

Then used a sanding block to expose the silver.

I cut and embossed Spellbinders new ATC Die D-lites (largest die template) and began sponging Gina K Wild Lilac ink with the white cardstock still in the die template.

Then I sponged Gina K Edible Eggplant.

Using the tree, from Fanciful Fall, I stamped leaves in the corners with Gina K Wild Lilac ink.

I layered the ATC sponged scene with DCWV Burlap paper and Pure Luxury Black Onyx onto a 5 ½ by 4 ¼ inch Pure Luxury Vibrant Purple card base. After adhering the fence, I used dimensional adhesive to attach the pumpkins. The sentiment, also from Fanciful Fall, was stamped on white cardstock and adhered with dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
