Birds and Blossoms Sneak Peek and Tutorial

Hello! Today Gina is sharing two more sneak peeks of the new release stamp sets on Gina's blog. Today's peeks are of my new set, Birds and Blossoms and Beth Silaika's new Lovely Ladybug set. My card today features Birds and Blossoms (tutorial below). For a sample using images from Lovely Ladybug, be sure to check out Beth's blog.

I used Copic markers to color the image (stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink), beginning with B24.

Added B23.

Then filled in the back with B21.

To deepen the shading, I added some B26.

Then some C3 around the face, shoulder, belly and on the wooden post.

I added YR61 to the belly and YR14 to the shoulder.

Then on the post E57.

Filled in with E31.

Then a bit more contrast with E59.

Added a shadow under the tail with N7.

For the flowers I started with YR07.

Added Y17.

Then filled in with Y000.

And finally, YG25 on the stems.

Using Spellbinders™Classic Ovals Nestabilities®, I cut and oval from Pure Luxury White card stock and began sponging, while still in the die template, using Memento New Sprout ink.

Then sponged Memento Lulu Lavender.

I removed the oval from the die template and stamped some foliage using Memento New Sprout. I masked the edges with sticky notes, to keep the frame clean. I could have left it in the die template while stamping, but I find the thickness of the die templates can prevent getting a good impression right up against the edge, so I tend to remove and use sticky notes to mask.

I cut another oval, this time with the smallest die template from Grand Decorative Ovals One. I sponged with Memento New Sprout.

I formed a 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch card base using Pure Luxury Lovely Lavender card stock, then embossed a frame using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A, then adhered the ovals using Pop Dots. The sentiment was cut using Fancy Tags 2 and sponged with Memento Lulu Lavender.

Birds and Blossoms, along with all the new release stamp sets will become available from Gina K Designs starting this Thursday. More sneak peeks from Gina tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
