A few of you have asked if I have a tutorial from the sneak peak I showed on Thursday morning and yes I will be posting that soon.
Next up is such a fun and inventive set illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger, Bring the Bling. She created a set that will allow you to mimic all those bling gem embellishments, only with a stamp! This is set is going to be so much fun to use. On my first card I simply stamped the blingy flowers with black and then colored. I used my Stardust Glitter Pen to add a bit of sparkle to each dot on the flowers and added some of the flourish blingy images to accent.
Next I decided to see how Crystal Lacquer would look on the bling dots. I stamped them on Pure Luxury Innocent Pink cardstock, using Memento Rose Bud ink and then added a little dot of Crystal Lacquer over each stamped dot. The fine tip that comes with the Applicator Bottles that Gina carries is perfect for precise placement. It's a little hard to see in the photo, but this gave the bling so much dimension and shine!
Here is a look before I added the Crystal Lacquer.
And here is what it looked like after adding Crystal Lacquer to the Bring The Bling images. Isn't that fabulous!
Next up is such an adorable set, drawn by the super talented Asela Hopkins, called Make a Splash. These images are so sweet and fun. Perfect for kids or adults. I colored the whale and octopus with Copic markers and cut them out. The waves were cut free hand and sponged with Memento Bahama Blue ink. I just quick drew in the little water droplets with a black marker colored to match the whale spout.

And now for the details from my iris card.
I stamped the iris, from Warm With Love, using Memento Tuxedo Black. Then I colored with Copic markers, starting with Y17.
Added a halo of Y11.
Filled in the rest of the petal with B41.
Added shading with B23.
Deepened the shading with B26.
Then added a touch of purple in the darkest area, using V06.
I colored all the lower petals the same way and for the upper petals, I left out the yellow, just using B41, B23 and B26.
For the stem, I filled in with G24.
And shaded with G28. After coloring, I cut out the image.
Next, I cut a circle using Nestabilities and sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink.
Sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves.
Sponged Memento Summer Sky.
Sponged Memento Grape Jelly.
After sponging the circle background, I stamped the grass using Memento Bamboo Leaves, but stamped off on scratch paper to make it lighter. The butterfly is also from Warm With Love. I used V06, V04 and V000 to color it. Sorry I spaced on snapping those photos. The sentiment is from The Giving Tree. The textured layer is Pure Luxury White which I sponged with Memento Summer Sky and Grape Jelly, then embossed with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I layered with Pure Luxury Vibrant Purple and Lovely Lavender. Images are adhered with Pop Dots.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a happy day! Another March Inspiration hop tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteAwww poop, in the sentence "That crystal lacquer card is !!" I had actually written a phrase but put it in the greater than/less than brackets, which obviously didn't work out.
