Hello stampers! Today I combined images from Rupa's Are We There Yet, with the mountain scene from Happy Camper. The mountain provides the perfect backdrop for Rupa's beautiful RV. My DH is always attending retirement parties for co-workers, so I'll save this for the next time he needs a retirement card.
Here are a few details...
I stamped the RV on Pure Luxury White and used Copic markers to color, starting with N3, N5 and N7 on the tires, and C1 on the rims.
For the main body of the RV, I used E53 on the lower parts and edges.
Then I added E51 to the rest of the body. I went back with my blender pen in the large open areas to lighten it up a bit. That part isn't pictured because my camera battery died at just the wrong moment.
For the stripes, I used E57 on the top portion.
Then added E33 to the botom band and the shadow adove the cab. Used my blender pen to add highlights to the stripe.
To create shadows on the windows, I used C3 in the corners.
Then smoothed it out with C1 and my blender pen. I used the fine tip on my Rich Cocoa Memento marker to color the trim around the windows. I've found it to be a bit difficult to color very tiny areas with the Copics, but the Memento Markers are perfect for that. Then I cut out the image, using my Cutterbee scissors.
To create the background, I first stamped the mountain scene, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I wanted some trees on either side to frame the RV, so I used a piece of paper to mask off the mountain and stamped the trees that are on the right side of the stamp. Then I stamped the same trees on the other side of the cardstock.
Used E57, YG95 and YG99 on the trees.
For the mountains, I started with BV11.
Added C3.
Finished with C1 and my blender pen.
For the rocks, I used W1 and W3.
Then I used my Versa Mark pen over the stamped images, before embossing with clear embossing powder.
I finally ordered some Vivid ink pads and sponged with them for the first time today. The colors are so rich and deep! Very nice to sponge with. I sponged Vivid Wild Lyme in the foreground.
Then sponged Vivid Olive around the edges.
Here is a little comparison photo, so you can see the sizes of the Vivid ink pads. They come in two sizes, the mini and full sized. I was very surprised at how large the mini sized pads are compared the Memento dew drops.
Ok, back to my card... I used SU Bashful Blue to sponge the sky.
Then sponged Vivid Inky Blue around the edges of the sky.
I stamped the sentiment, from Are We There Yet, in the corner and added some piercing and brads. The RV was added using Pop Dots and I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and used a Green Apple card base.
Did you see that Gina has started showing snippets from the new release on her blog? Our release party is next Thursday in the Gina K forums at SCS and previews will begin Tuesday. I am so excited for this release. I have a new stamp set coming out and it is my favorite that I've released so far.
Have a great day!
