Tiki Thanks Revisited - Tutorial

Hello! Today is just a repeat of a card I showed you on Wednesday, so I could upload the step by step photos. I will have three new cards to show you next week.

Just a note… Before I move on to the photos, I want to mention that I plan to turn on word verification for about 5 days to try to combat some heavy spamming that has been getting through lately. Usually, the spam hits older posts. I have comment moderation turned on for older posts and if a particular post starts getting hit hard, I turn off comments for that post. Lately, however, they are hitting brand new posts. In the past, I've found that a few days of Word Verification throws the spam bots into a tail spin and they leave me alone for a while. I understand how miserable word verification is when trying to leave comments and I'm so sorry. I promise to turn it off as soon as possible.

And now for the details of my card… I stamped the tiki head with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored with Copics, beginning with W5.

Then I added E55.

Then E00. After coloring, I cut out the image.

For the leaves, I stamped with Tuxedo Black ink again and began coloring with YG97.

Added YG95.

Then filled in most of the way with YG91 and used my blender pen to smooth.

I stamped the chevron pattern, from Pretty Patterns, with Memento Peanut Brittle ink, on a piece of 4 ½ by 3 ¼ inch Pure Luxury Cantaloupe card stock.

I cut Pure Luxury Ivory card stock with Spellbinders™ Mega Nestabilities® Labels Eighteen and sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink while still in the die template.

Then I stamped the palm fronds randomly, using Memento Peanut Brittle, but stamped off on scratch paper first to make the images lighter.

I wanted to stagger the "Thank You" sentiment into two separate pieces, but the words are spaced closely together on the stamp. To get some extra space between the words, I inked up the stamp, then placed a sticky not down before stamping. Since I am using a clear stamp, it is very easy to see exactly where I am stamping. I stamped it so the edge of the sticky note was right between the words.

I moved the sticky note to cover the "you" then I inked it again and stamped so the "Thank" was on the card stock and the "You" was on the sticky note. After removing the sticky note, I had plenty of space to cut out my words.

I layered the background with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and Fresh Asparagus and adhered the images with Pop Dots. The card base is Pure Luxury Sandy Beach, 5 ½ by 4 ¼ inches.

Here is another look at the inside of the card. I stamped the curvy Pretty Patterns image and the palm frond with Memento Peanut Brittle.

Thanks for stopping  by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
