Hello! Today I am showing you a card I made for my stamping friend Karen Knegten. I'm sure many of you know her. Karen was rushed to the hospital recently with a brain aneurism. While in the hospital she suffered another and wound up having brain surgery twice. I can't imagine how scary it must have been for Karen and her family. Now she has a long recovery ahead of her. This is the card I made for her. I hope she liked it.
I cut a piece of Pure Luxury White card stock using my Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Large Classic Rectangles. I sponged a bit of Memento Cantaloupe ink just in the center.
Sponged Memento Angel Pink.
Sponged Memento Rose Bud.
Sponged Memento Lulu Lavender.
Sponged Memento Grape Jelly.
I masked off the top using a sticky note and sponged more Memento Grape Jelly.
I stamped the palm tree, from Aloha (Gina K Designs) using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Then stamped the sailboat, also with Tuxedo Black.
Colored in the palm fronds with YG97 and YG95.
Colored in the trunk with E59.
Then I added some shading with N5 and N7.
I added ripples to the water with BV11 and an opaque white gel pen.
I cut another piece of Pure Luxury White using Spellbinders Labels 18 and sponged Memento Lulu Lavender and Grape Jelly, then stamped the sentiment. I layered with Pure Luxury Vibrant Purple and used a Lovely Lavender card base (4 ¼ by 5 ½ inches). Then I added some of those gorgeous Spellbinders Jewel Fantasies feathers, cut using Pure Luxury Vibrant Purple.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
