Heartfelt Sympathy

Good morning. I'm sure most of you have heard the very sad news that our stamping sister, Katie Renz, passed away Monday morning. This is the sympathy card I made for her family. Despite knowing it was coming, it is still so hard to grasp the reality that such a happy, energetic person like Katie has left this life.

Here is the address if you'd like to send a card to her husband and boys:
The Renz Family
PO Box 5913
Bellingham, WA 98227-5913

I cut a piece of Pure Luxury white card stock to 4 3/4 by 3 1/2 inches and sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink.

I masked a 1 inch circle for the sun and sponged more Cantaloupe ink.

Sponged Memento Tangelo ink.

I used sticky notes to mask for the horizon line, then sponged Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

Sponged Memento London Fog.

I removed the mask for the sun and used a small sponge dauber to sponged around the edges of the circle, to soften the edges of bit.

I flipped the mask around to cover the sky and sponged Memento London Fog.

Then sponged Memento Potter's Clay ink.

I stamped the sail boat, from By the Sea, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I used N5 and N7 Copic markers to color in the boat.

Then used N3 and N5 on the sails.

Stamped the seagulls using Memento Tuxedo Black.  I added a shadow to the boat, with N3 and C3, then added ripples to the water with YG12.

I stamped the grass in the bottom corners, then added the sentiment, from Heartfelt, with Tuxedo Black ink.

I layered with Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown, and used a Tan Leather card base. The finished size is 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
