Pink Trees

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I went to Sacramento to attend an Intermediate Copic certification class and had a great time. The class was taught by Debbie Olson, who made the class fun and informative. The content covered colored theory, much like you would find in a college design class, but presented from a Copic perspective. I've been guilty of not taking my coloring very seriously. I always tell myself it's just a card, why take the time to decided on my light source before starting. Now, I'm feeling creatively rejuvenated in general and inspired to take a little more time with my coloring.

For my card, I first cut a piece of Pure Luxury White to 3 3/4 by 5 inches and sponged Memento Angel Pink on the top.

Added a touch of sponging to the center with Memento Cantaloupe.

Sponged a bit of Memento Rose Bud ink at the top.

Stamped the trees, from Farm Life, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I used Copic markers to color, starting with RV21.

 Added RV25.

 Added RV19.

Then used BG02 to card some shadows.

For the trunks and fence I started with E31.

Then added E59.

I colored in some ground with YG03.

Then used YG91 over it to tone it down a bit.

Added some shadows with YG93.

Then sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves around the bottom edges.

Then I add a corner bow, like on this card, I like to tie a bow around something small, like an ink pad.

Then I turn it over and snip the ribbon on the backside.

I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx, then wrapped the trimmed ribbon around the corner and adhered. I stamped the sentiment, from Sending Sunshine, on vellum and adhered with brads. The card base is Pure Luxury Passionate Pink.

Thanks for popping in. Have yourself a fab day!
