Tropical Sunset

Hello! This is the card I made for my daughter's birthday. We are planning a trip to Kauai this summer, so I wanted a tropical themed card. I came across this photo and used it for inspiration.  The images are from Aloha and Vogue Vases.

To start, I sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink.

Sponged Memento Tangelo.

Sponged Memento Angel Pink.

Sponged Memento Lulu Lavender.

 Sponged Memento Grape Jelly.

Sponged Memento Paris Dusk.

Then I masked the sky and sponged Memento Grape Jelly.

Moved the mask again and sponged Memento Tuxedo Black.

Stamped the palm tree, from Aloha, using Memento Tuxedo Black.

I used Copics to color the tree, starting with N7.

Then filled in with N5.

I used V4 to add some waves and used YR04 & Y17 to add the sunlight reflecting on the water.

Then used an opaque white gel pen to add highlights and added more low lights with V04.

I stamped some palm fronds in the foreground, using the image from Vogue Vases and stamping off on scratch paper once, with Tuxedo Black ink, before stamping on the background.

Stamped the plumeria flower, from Aloha, and colored with Copics, starting with V01.

Added V04.

Added V06.

Used YG03 on the leaves.

Then added YG95. After coloring, I cut out the flower.

I layered with Pure Luxury Lovely Lavender, Black Onyx and used Wild Lilac for the card base. The flower was adhered with Pop Dots and I added a self adhesive pearl to the center.

Thanks for visiting. I hope your day is wonderful!
