Wishful Dragonfly

Happy Friday! I made another card with images from Follow Your Dreams. I'm really digging that dragonfly.

It is also my sample for the new Free For All Friday challenge I am hostessing at StampTV. Each week a different DT member will post a challenge of her choice.

Here is the sketch. You can find the challenge here. One participant will be randomly chosen to win a free stamp set of their choice.

To make my background I started by cutting a circle from a sticky note, using circle Nestabilities. I used the sticky note as a mask and sponged in the opening with Memento Tangelo ink.

I removed the mask, then sponged all over with Memento Cantaloupe ink.

Then I sponged Memento Tangelo from the circle out a ways to give the sun a halo.

I sponged the bottom with Memento Angel Pink to make it a bit peachy.

I used the Jumbo Sponge Dauber that I use with Memento Rich Cocoa and sponged a little along the bottom just using the residual ink on the dauber so it would be light.

Stamped the cattails, from Follow Your Dreams, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Used my Copic markers, YG95 and E25 to color in the cattails.

I inked up the water grass image with Memento Rich Cocoa and stamped off on scratch paper before stamping on the background, to make it lighter. I repeated several times. I stamped the cattails on a sticky note and cut it out to mask the cattails on the background before stamping the grass.

For the dragonfly, I colored the body with E35 and started with R85 on the wings.

Added R81.

Then added Y17.

I used my Stardust Glitter Pen and drew along the veins to add some sparkle to the wings.

The dragonfly was cut out and popped up on the background with Pop Dots. I used Pink Paisley Butterfly Garden DP to layer along with Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown and an Ivory card base.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
