Hummingbird Bliss

Hiya stampers! Here is a card I shared at the GKD party last week. I used Nina Brackett's new Hugs and Prayers stamp set, along with a few images from Hope Grows.

For the flowers, I started with YR07, Copic marker.

Added Y17.

Then I filled in most of the way with Y21, leaving just a few highlights at the ends of the petals. I used my blender pen to smooth out the transition into the highlights.

I used YG03 on the bottom, then I cut it out.

For the hummingbird, I started with R27.

Added YR07.

Added Y17.

Added Y21.

Added YG03.

Used B21 on the wings and added B23 for shading.

Added V04 to the tail.

Filled in with V12.

Then used V06 to blend into the red.

I cut a circle with my Nestabilities, then sponged Memento New Sprout.

Sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves.

I stamped the flower with Bamboo Leaves, then stamped the swirly part around the sides a few more times.

For the larger background, I started by sponging Memento Cantaloupe.

Sponged Memento New Sprout.

Sponged Memento Angel Pink.

Sponged Memento Tangelo.

I stamped a few branch images, from Hope Grows, using New Sprout and Tangelo ink.

I layered my circles with Pure Luxury Black Onxy, cut with scallop circle Nestabilities and then adhered the flower and hummingbird with Pop Dots.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you have a great day!

  5. I'm trying and trying (and trying) to resist the urge to begin a copic collection... Seeing these pictures is sure not good for my wallet. But you make it look so easy and so beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
