Hiya! I was inspired by a paper plate to make this card. I also followed the sketch over at CPS this week. Gina K is the sponsor for this challenge and you can find some great GKD inspiration from the CPS DT, not to mention a great prize if you play along.
All the images are from Aloha (GKD). I colored with Copics, starting with YR000 on the underside of the flamingo.
Added RV21.
Added RV25. sorry about the blurry picture
Added RV29.
For the legs, I used E55 all over.
Then added E59, leaving a bit of the E55 showing as highlights. Then I cut out the flamingo.
For the yellow flower, I started with YR07.
Added Y17. (I also used this color for the center of the purple flower.
Filled in most of the way with Y21, leaving just a few small highlights.
Started with V06 on the purple flower.
Filled in most of the rest, leaving just some small highlights.
Used YG03 to fill in the leaves.
Added YG95.
Used YG93 to blend. Then I cut out the flowers.
I cut the background askew like the sketch and then sponged Memento Cantaloupe ink in a band across the center.
Then sponged Memento Tangelo above the yellow.
Sponged Memento Rose Bud above the orange.
Sponged just a tiny bit of Memento Rhubarb Stalk along the top edge.
I masked off the top and then sponged some Memento New Sprout.
Added a tiny bit of Memento Bamboo Leaves.
Sponged Memento Summer Sky.
Sponged Memento Danube Blue.
I moved the mask to cover the bottom at the horizon line, then used a torn Post-it Note to mask for a mountain. I sponged Memento New Sprout in the exposed area.
Sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves.
Sponged just a tiny bit of Cottage Ivy.
I used my Memento Bamboo Leaves marker to draw a line along the horizon and around the edge of my mountain.
I stamped the palm tree with Memento Tuxedo Black. I bent the stamp a little when placing it on the acrylic block, so the trunk would be a little more curved.
Filled in the fronds with YG95, then added YG99 along the centers of the fronds. I used E59 for the trunk.
I adhered the flamingo with Pop Dots and then added some small waves with my white gel pen. I trimmed off the lower foot of the flamingo so it would look like he is actually standing in water that is a few inches deep. Kinda barbaric of me, wasn't it? Truly, he didn't suffer much at all.
I layered the background with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and used a Kraft cardbase. The flowers were added using Pop Dots.
Thanks for visiting. I hope your day is filled with smiles and laughter.
