Here are my tips for my new stamp set, Hang in There.
The Branch – This stamp can be used as a focal image and would be great for a CAS, or masculine card. You can use techniques like thumping, kissing, ghosting and so on.
Stamp in bold colors and use it as a silhouette to frame one of the animal images, or other nature images you may have.
Stamp in lighter colors to give the appearance of depth.
Use it with floral images to create a bouquet.
Stamp in a random pattern to create your own custom pattern paper.
The Grass – This image can be stamped side by side to create a span of grass and/or stamped in layers to create a field, stamping progressively lighter as you get further away.
Use it with the animals in this set, or with any of your other stamp sets. I drew both the grass branch are somewhat stylized so they can go with a variety of image styles.
This would be a great image to use to rest Easter eggs one for your Easter cards.
Make a grass border and “plant” flowers.
The Animals - These images can be colored in your favorite coloring medium, or left uncolored, for a cleaner look.
The possum can hang from twine “rope.”
Stamp, color, then cut out the animals and hang them on some of your other images.
Stamp the animal a second time and cut it out to “pop it up” on the original image, for greater dimension.
Use Google Image Search to see what colors to use for a realistic look, or experiment with colors you like.
Frogs come in nearly every color, blue, purple, red, orange, yellow and of course, green.
Create masks of the animals so you can stamp background foliage around them.
The Sentiments - The smaller sentiments will fit in the “sign” image from Happy Camper.
Most of will fit in Spellbinders tag dies.
More ideas...
Use sentiments from other stamp sets to make different themed cards.
Make a set of four coasters for a fathers day present.
Many of the sentiments from some of Melanie’s animal sets will work beautifully with Hang in There (Just So Hoppy, Hip Hop Accessories and Cuddles and Hugs)
Use the images to decorate plain kraft wrapping paper.
The images from Hang in There will work with many of the images from two of my previous sets, Life is Good and Happy Camper.
Cutting Suggestions -
Here are the steps I used for cutting out my set. I started by making a horizontal cut across the middle of the stamp sheet. This is nearly a straight line, but you will need to make a bit of a curve.
Next, I cut the top section into two pieces. For this cut, I did it by first cutting from the bottom about halfway, then cutting from the top meet the first cut.
Then I cut the bottom section into three pieces.
Next, I made a horizontal cut in the top right section to remove the large quote.
Next, I made a diagonal cut between the sentiments and the koala bear. Then all that is left is to make a few horizontal cuts to separate the sentiments. After separating all the stamps, I trimmed around each one to clean them up a bit.
Have a great day!
This is going to be very helpful!! TFS - Vicki
