Gina K Preview - Oh Baby! and Pressed Flowers

Hello! Today the Gina K design team are previewing two more February release stamp sets. First up is Rupa Shevde's adorable new set, Oh Baby! This is the perfect baby set. All the images are so cute and whimsical, perfect for new parents, or expecting moms.

I used the little duck pull toy image and made it into a pond scene. I colored the ducks with Copics and cut them out. Then I free hand cut out some waves, which I sponged with Memento inks. The ducks are adhered with Pop Dots, between the wave layers. In the background I stamped a few cattails from Life is Good.

Next up is Melanie Muenchinger's new set, Pressed Flowers. This stamp set was designed to be a perfect companion to Melanie's A Year of Flowers set (one of my all time favorite sets)! It is also a perfect stand alone set as each bold stamp image lends itself to many techniques as you will see on each designer's blogs tonight!

Start with the Illustrator's blog Melanie Muenchinger and then visit these designer's blogs for even more samples with this stamp set and Rupa Shevde's O Baby Stamp set as well!

Here are the details for how I made the sunflower card...

First I inked up the silhouette sunflower from Pressed Flowers, with Memento Dandelion ink, then I used the rock 'n roll technique to ink up the edges of the stamp with Memento Cantaloupe ink. To do this, hold the stamp block at an angler and press against the ink pad, rolling the stamp around so that only the edges get inked.

Here is what the image looked like after I stamped. You can see that the edges of the petals are a bit darker from the darker ink color.

Next, I used the sunflower image from A Year of Flowers and inked it up, using Memento Markers. I went over the center with Desert Sand and over the petals with Potter's Clay. I rubbed some of the ink off around the edges to make the ink fade away toward the outer part of the petals. I also thumped some Rich Cocoa in the center, for some variation. Before stamping, I huffed on the image to freshen the ink. I didn't worry about using a stamp positioner, since I was going for a bit of a loose look.

I used a stem, from Pressed Flowers, inked up with Memento New Sprout, then ran my Memento Bamboo Leaves marker along one edge, before stamping.

For the leaves, I used an image from Pressed Flowers, inking again with Memento New Sprout and using the Bamboo Leaves marker.

After stamping my flower, I sponged some Memento Dandelion along the edges of my cardstock.

Then sponged some Memento Desert Sand.

I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and some Basic Grey Origins DP. The card base is one of the new Pure Luxury colors, Lemon Drop.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll see you again tomorrow with two more sneak peeks. Have a great day!
