Hope is Faith - illustrated by Gina Krupsky

Hello! Today is the first day of previews for the Gina K Designs February release. I'm so excited to share this first project with you, featuring a new stamp set designed to help Haiti. This mini set is comprised of this gorgeous butterfly and a wonderful sentiment. I designed a coordinating digital paper pack, called Wings of Hope, also to help Haiti.

My card uses the some of the new digital paper, a brand new Pure Luxury cardstock color, Lovely Lavender, and the gorgeous butterfly, that I colored with Copics and cut out. I inked up the word "hope" only, from the sentiment. I also used Vibrant Violet (works beautifully with the new Lovely Lavender) and that pretty purple ribbon which is from the new Spring Ribbon Assortment.

The Hope is Faith mini stamp set retails for $9.95. $2.00 of every purchase of this stamp set will be sent directly to the Red Cross, to help Haiti, throughout the month of February.

As the first responders to disasters around the world, the Red Cross is there to help with the basic needs of these people who have suffered so much. By purchasing this mini set, you will help to make a difference to people who are desperate by supporting an organization that works tirelessly to feed, clothe, comfort and care for those in need.

Hang in There - illustrated by me

Now I have a card using the new stamp set I illustrated, called Hang in There. These images were so fun to draw. All four of the animal images are in various poses, hanging in trees, with sentiments that offer words of support. More details about my card below, but for now, you can see more inspiration from these designers...

To make my card, I started by stamping the koala with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I colored with Copic markers, starting with YR000 in the areas I wanted the lightest on the koala.

Filled in the rest of the koala with E31.

Added W3.

Added N5.

Used C3 and N5 to add texture to the fur, with short, choppy lines.

For the branch, I started with E49.

Added E57.

Added E55.

Filled in with E53 and then used my blender pen to push some highlights back in.

I stamped the koala again on scratch paper and cut it out to use as a mask. I adhered it with re-positionable tape, over the first image, and then sponged with Memento Cantaloupe.

Sponged with Memento New Sprout.

Sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves.

I stamped the grass, another image from Hang in There. I inked with Bamboo Leaves, then stamped off once on scratch paper, then stamped on the background. Then repeated to fill in the entire bottom.

The branch, also from Hang in There, was inked with Memento Tuxedo Black, stamped off once, then stamped on the background. I did that several times to frame the focal image.

I removed the mask and layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx, Sweet Corn, Basic Grey Origins DP, then used a Fresh Asparagus cardbase.
