Autumn Beauty Blog Hop!
Hi and thank you for hopping along with the Gina K Team and friends for a special Autumn Beauty Blog Hop! My project tonight is a crimped envelope card. This is a fun project where you use an evelope to make a little pouch and tuck a little card inside. You can find all the details below.
Leave me a comment at the end of this post for a chance to win an Autumn Beauty stamp set. Contest ends Sunday night at midnight Pacific. I'll announce a winner on Monday.
How about some more inspiration?
I asked the following guest designers to join in on the blog hop tonight:
Pam Imholz
Karen Knegten
Jennie Harper
Melissa Shulz
Brenda Turner
These Gina K Designers are also sharing projects tonight on their blogs:
Gina Krupsky
Carolyn King
Emily Giovanni
Jessica Fick
Kurtis Amundson
Lee Murphy
Lynn Mercurio
Melanie Muenchinger
We even have some of our CenterStage Spotlight Designers joining in tonight:
Geri Utterback
Shelly Wilson
Tina Gilliland
And now the details...
I took a standard A2 envelope (the ones that fit 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch cards), sealed the flap down and then trimmed one side off at 1 1/4 inches.
Before crimping, I decorated the main pocket of the envelope. I sponged Pumpkin Pie ink on all sides.
Then stamped the swirly branch using Creamy Caramel ink. When stamping, it's important to keep track of which side the opening is (the side you cut), since that will now be the top of the card.
After stamping and sponging, I ran it through my crimper so that the lines would be vertical on my finished project. The crimping causes the envelope to shrink just enough, so that the 1 1/4 inch section that you trimmed off, will slide right over the crimped piece. If you crimp in the wrong direction, the top won't fit.
The over all size of the insert is 4 by 4 1/4. I added two layers, scaling them down slightly for a layered look. I used Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss, Pumpkin Spice and Ivory.
I used Copics to color the images, starting with YR07.
Added YR12.
Finished the petals with Y23. As you can see I didn't bother staying in the lines, since I knew I would be cutting this image out.
For the center, I added YR07.
Then filled in most of the center with E37, leaving just a few spots white for highlights.
Then I used Y23 for the highlighted areas.
Used YG03 for the leaves and stem.
Added YG93.
Then blended with YG93.
I colored all of the sunflowers the same way. I added the sentiment in the corner and decorated the top piece with a ribbon and three tiny sunflowers. Then I tucked in the insert and slid the top on.
Thanks for hopping! Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win this stamp set. Have a great day!
