Gina K Preview Day 1 - Happy Camper and 100% Sweet!

100% Sweet - Illustrated by Rupa Shevde

Hello! I hope you all had a happy Father's Day weekend. I was busy stamping samples for the new Gina K Designs release for June and all I can say is WOW, these are some fun sets to stamp with.

First up is a card using Rupa Shevde's latest stamp set called 100% Sweet. This is such a sweeeeet set! I think I gained a few pounds making this card. LOL.

I colored the cones using Copic markers and added some glitter highlights using my Quickie Glue Pen and Doodlebug glitter. I also snuck in a piece of SEI glittered paper from Jessica's Fun With Glitters class kit. The images in this set are so happy and just call for bright shiny colors, perfect for glittering.

I have a ton of photos for this card, but my post would have been huge if I did all photos for both cards today, so I will post this card again over the weekend with all the step by step photos.

Happy Camper - Illustrated by Theresa Momber (that's me!)

My other card today uses stamps from Happy Camper, a set I illustrated for Gina K Designs. Yay! I'm a little excited! I also used the new Pure Luxury Soft Sand cardstock for my cardbase. I love this new color!

The rest of the Design Team have some wonderful samples from both of these new stamp sets, so I hope you go see what they have created!

Gina, Carolyn, Cathy, Cindy, Donna, Emily, Erika, Jessica, Joanne, Kurtis, Lee, Lynn, and Melanie

We are also thrilled to have a couple of our CenterStage Spotlight Design Team join us in our previews this morning: Carolina Butching and Jennie Harper

Here are a few details from my card...

I started by stamping the tent, then placed a mask over it and stamped the background scene.

Then with the mask still on, I stamped the background again so the left side would extend just a little further. Here it is with the mask removed.

I colored using Copic markers, starting with W1 top piece of the tent. I used my blender pen to lighten some areas. For the next part of the tent, I used R24. I colored in all the areas, then used by blender pen to give it some highlights. Then I came back in with more R24 to intensify the darkest areas. Usually, I would just used several shades of red for my blending, but I wanted to show how much variation you can get with just one pen and a blender pen. (did this on several of my samples this week, so stay tuned)

For the rest of the outside of the tent, I used E57 and my blender pen. This is another example of using just one pen, where you would usually see me use at least two or three colors. I added the color in small circles, then came back and pushed the color away from the areas I wanted lighter.

For the inside of the tent, I used N5, W3 and my blender pen. On the mountains, I used C3 and my blender pen.

N5 and blender pen for the rocks in the distance.

E57 and YG93 for the trees.

Then I heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder and sponged Certainly Celery in the foreground and So Saffron in the background.

Sponged Old Olive in the foreground and Creamy Caramel in the background.

Sponged Sahara Sand in the background to make the sky look a bit cloudy.

Sponged Basic Black all around the edges.

I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and Pure Luxury Rocket Red, on a Soft Sand card base (new Pure Luxury color!).

I added a sentiment to the inside on a piece of Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock, using Memento ink. I also stamped the mountain scene using Sahara Sand ink.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll come back tomorrow for two more previews. Have a wonderful day!
