Happy Friday! I made another card using the new StampTV Eclectic Summer kit. I found this pillow in my internet travels and decided to use it as inspiration for the card.
Here are the deets...
I stamped both images on Pure Luxury White cardstock. Then I drew a stem for the flower.
I used Copic markers to color, starting with B23 and B24 around the edges of the petals. I didn't bother with some of the petals, since I knew I would be cutting them away.
Blended out with B21, keeping some bare white.
Used my blender pen to soften the transition between the bare white and B21. Then used B24 to add a bit more shading to the edges.
Used YG03, YG93 and YG95 for the stem.
For the butterfly, I started with YR07 on the inside of the wings.
Using small circles, I blended out with YR16.
Did the same with YR12.
Finished off with Y21. It's not pictured, but I used N5 and YR16 on the body. Then I cut out both images.
For the background, I sponged So Saffron and just a bit of Summer Sun in the corner.
Sponged Certainly Celery.
Sponged Old Olive.
Used a post-it note as a mask and sponged Certainly Celery to create radiating lines. I wish I had gone darker with this step, since after adding the images, the lines barely showed.
Used a branch stamp from Tropical Flowers and Old Olive ink for the foliage. I stamped twice before re-inking to get some fainter images.
I layered with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and SU Bashful Blue.
Thanks for looking. I hope you have a great weekend!
This is stunning and anyone would treasure it :)
