Wee Tees - Gina K Preview Day 1

Here it a preview of Melanie's newest stamp set, Wee Tee's. This cute set has a "onesie" and a whole bunch of coordinating sentiments and images.

When I saw this set, I was immediately draw to one of the sentiments, "Spit Happens." When my daughter was a baby, my favorite bib of hers was just a simple white bib that said "Spit Happens." I also used to sing a silly little song to her, that I made up, called Bear Dance. So those are what inspired this card with the bib and bears dancing across the bottom.

I love the size that Melanie drew the onesie. It is just perfect to go either on cards or in scrapbooks. And the smaller image stamps can fit right on the onesie, but they are big enough to stand alone.

In addition to Melanie's Wee Tees, Rupa Shevde also has a new set that is being previewed tonight. Hop on over to Gina's Blog for a chance to win one of these fabulous sets and then see what the rest of the team has cooked up!

And for a few extra peeks at Melanie's new set, hop on over to see her guest designers...

Here are a few details on how I made this card...

To make the bib, I used the second to the smallest size of the small regular scallop oval and oval Nestabilities from Spellbinders.

I placed the white oval in a 3/4 inch circle punch and cut off one of the narrow ends of the oval.

I stamped my sentiment and then adhered it to the scallop piece.

Then I placed it back in the circle punch and cut away the top of the scallop oval, leaving just a small band of pink showing. To get it lined up, I positioned it til the white was just showing and then backed it out just a bit.

Here it is after cutting the scallop oval.

Next I stamped the onesie on designer paper, then colored the openings with Copic markers to create some shadows (RV21, RV23 and RV25). This DP is retired paper from Stampin' Up called Berry Bliss.

Next I cut out the onesie and sponged some shadows using Pretty in Pink ink.

Stamped the bear along the bottom of a piece of Pure Luxury White cardstock, using Memento ink.

Colored the bears using E31, E53, E51, E33, E35, E37 and my colorless blender. After coloring, I used my Versa Mark pen to go over the bears and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Then I sponged the background using Blush Blossom, So Saffron and Apricot Appeal ink. I made the band across the middle by punching some Pretty in Pink and Pure Luxury White cardstock with my Threading Water border punch. The little corner adornments were made form an EK Success punch.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will come back tomorrow for another preview and a brand new illustrator! I am so excited!
