Getting Sentimental

Happy Friday, everyone! I had such a fun time at the Gina K release party. If you were there, I hope you had as much fun as I did. All the new stamp sets and digital papers that we previewed all week are now available to order.

Today I am sharing a card I made for the Flourishes Getting Sentimental challenge. We were to use a sentiment as the main focal image in a card or project.

I stamped the sentiment from Thank You Tulips and cut & embossed it using my oval nestabilities. Before I popped it out of the die, I sponged some Creamy Caramel.

I wanted one of the small tulips to be turned in the other direction, so I moved the stem on my acrylic block to go against the direction it wanted and stamped one of the flowers that way.

I colored the images with Copics and cut them out. I wanted one of the leaves to also go the other direction, so I cut it off and moved it over to the other side of the stem.

And here is what it looked like after I adhered all the flowers down. I sponged the background layer with So Saffron, Blush Blossom and Apricot Appeal. Then I stamped the swirl, from Siberian Iris, with Creamy Carmel and Apricot Appeal, going darker to lighter, from the bottom to the top. I had to do some stamping off as I got toward the top, to get this effect.

Flourishes is releasing some new sets tonight and having a release party in their forums at SCS tonight. I am going to try to pop in there for a bit, so maybe I'll see you there!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
