Burgundy Ball Gown

I'm having a stamping catastrophe day! I tried the color challenge and had to toss it. Then I tried another project and after re-working it twice, I decided to cut my losses and call it a day.LOL! At least I still have a few projects left from the last Gina K release party, so I have something to share.

This is a card I made for the release. I used the glass from Melanie's new set, A Charmed Life. I noticed it looked a bit like the bottom of a dress and went looking through my stamps to see if I could find something to work as the top. The cupcake from Sweetest Blessings seemed to fit the bill.

I started by inking up my stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I didn't want the lines from the wine to show, so I put tape over those parts of the stamp before inking.

Then I pulled the tape off, before stamping the image. You can see that those lines I didn't want stamped are left un-inked. Another way to do this would be to just ink your stamp up with a marker in the areas you want.

I stamped it on a piece of Emily's new digital paper pack, Rich and Shabby, and then cut it out.

For the top of the dress, I stamped the bottom of the cupcake from Sweetest Blessing and used Copic markers, RV21, RV23 and RV25 to color it.

And here is a close-up of the finished card. I stamped the shoe from A Charmed Life, with Going Gray ink and then filled it in with my Stardust Glitter pen. Then I cut it with my smallest circle Nestabilities die. I used another piece of digital paper from Rich and Shabby for my one of my laters and one from Peachy Keen.

Don't forget to check out stampTV for a new episode tomorrow (or tonight if you like to stay up late).

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
