Wow, what a great release party at the Gina K forums last night. All the new stamp sets are gorgeous. Thanks to everyone for all your support and generous praise. Stampers are the most friendly, wonderful people there are.
I thought I would share two more cards I made using Melanie's new stamp sets, A Year of Flowers and Say it With Flowers. If you were at the party, you may have already seen them.
For this card I used the sunflower and leaf sprig. I colored the images with Koh-i-noor pencils and blended them with odorless mineral spirits. All the images were cut out and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then layered on an oval piece of glossy card stock that I sponged with Bashful Blue and Ballet Blue inks.
I thought it would be fun to make a wreath using the leaf sprig. I stamped the image 10 times and then cut each one out. Next, I sponged half of the sprigs with Certainly Celery ink and the other half with Old Olive. I added some shading with Koh-i-noor pencils.
To assemble the wreath, I just tucked the stem of one sprig in between two leaves on the next, alternating light and dark sprigs. When I had them all together, I just dabbed a bit of liquid glue under some of the leaves until it held together.
The background is Very Vanilla, sponged with Certainly Celery and Old Olive. The following layers are, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery (sponged with Old Olive), Basic Black, all on a card base of Riding Hood Red.
A note to Marilyn - Thank you so much for your kind words. You asked about the meaning of a few acronyms I sometimes use. I get a bit lazy sometimes and don't take the time to write things out. I think I may add a jargon box to my sidebar like I have seen some other bloggers do.
Here are the ones you asked about...
SU - Stampin' Up
SCS - Split Coast Stampers
OMS - Odorless Mineral Spirits
Good luck with your blog and please let me know when you get it live. I would love to visit!
Theresa
