Gina K Blog Hop Day 2

Hello! Today the team at Gina K Designs are showcasing two more new release stamp sets, Holiday Frame from Melanie Muenchinger, and Dashing, illustrated by me! This first card is one I made using Melanie's Holiday Frame set. Love the versatility of this set and how it will work with so many of Melanie's other frame sets!

And here is the card I made using my new set, Dashing. This set is full of holiday images that can be used for elegant and masculine cards. Some of the images can be used for non-holiday winter scenes, as well.

Here is another card using Dashing.

Here is a video for the card above and there are step by step instructions below.

Trim ivory cardstock to 4 ½ by 3 ¼ inches and place a mask, trimmed to 1 by 2 ¼ inches, in the lower right corner. Sponge around the edges of the cardstock using Gina K Warm Cocoa ink.

Deepen the shading around the edges by sponging with Gina K Dark Chocolate ink.

Stamp the large tree image, from Dashing, on the left side using Dark Chocolate ink. I stamped mine so that one tree was off the cardstock and two remained on the cardstock, but you could choose to use all three. Stamp a few additional times, without re-inking the image, to make some lighter impressions. Repeat on the other side of the cardstock.

Switch to the smaller tree image, and stamp again with Dark Chocolate at full strength and stamping a few more times without re-inking.

Stamp both images a few more times, with Warm Cocoa ink, but stamping off onto scratch paper first to make the images lighter.

Stamp the santa's sleigh image using Dark Chocolate ink.

Remove the mask you placed earlier and stamp the sentiment in the open space. I used Gina K Cranberry Tart ink, but if you con't have Cranberry Tart, Cherry Red would be a good alternative.

Use an opaque white gel pen to add snow to the trees and highlights to the sleigh and the rumps of the deer.

To finish, layer with a piece of Cranberry Tart cardstock and adhere to a 5 ½ by 4 ¼ inch ivory card base.

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

  21. Just love your forest and the deer. It actually looks like my back yard with the trees and deer. We had several big bucks in our yard friday night after the football game. The lights from the football game were shinning on the trees with the big bucks peeking out of the trees. Just like your cards.
