Tropical Sunset Card Making Tutorial and Video

Hello! Today I have a card using my Tropical Nature stamp set from Gina K Designs.

Here is the video and to see on Youtube, click here

Start by trimming white cardstock to 3 1/4 by 4 1/2 inches. Then sponge Memento Cantaloupe ink in the center. (Gina K alternative: Sweet Corn)

Sponge Memento Tangelo ink along the bottom of the yellow. (Gina K alternative: Sweet Mango)

Cut a mask using Spellbinders® Classic Circles LG and place over the yellow. Sponge around the mask and from the edges inward using Memento Rose Bud ink. (Gina K alternative: Bubblegum)

Repostion mask lower, overlapping the first location slightly, then sponge around the bottom of the mask using more Rose Bud ink.

Remove the mask and sponge around the outside edges again, this time with Memento Lilac Posies.  (Gina K alternative: Passionate Pink)

Sponge more Tangelo between the two circles.

Mask the top (sky) and sponge along the edge of the mask with Tangelo.

Reposition the mask and sponge Tangelo and Rose Bud inks.

Remove the mask and add lines to the water using Copic markers RV14, YG01 and an opaque white gel pen.

Stamp the palm fronds using Memento Olive Grove ink. (Gina K alternative: Dark Sage)

Stamp the palm trees from the sides using Memento Olive Grove ink.

Color in the tree trunks using YG99 and fill in the palm fronds with YG95. Set background aside.

Stamp the plumeria image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Begin coloring using Y17 in the centers of the flowers.

Add YR02.

Blend out from the previous color using YR000.

Add some deeper shading to the lines along each petal.

Shade the foliage using YG99

Then fill in with both YG05 and YG93. After coloring, cut out the image.

Layer the background with Pure Luxury Black Onyx and adhere to a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch Sandy Beach card base. Adhere the flowers to the lower left hand corner, then trim along the edges where the stem and leaf extend.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a wonderful day!
